Entry for June 07, 2006

Productive day

Last night I went to work, and there were too many people there. They sent some to other departments, but I got to go home. Yeee haaa. I love the days when I get to go home early. I dont get paid, but like I said before, I dont care.

So as soon as I got home, I tried to work on the test for the chapter I just read. My eyes were burning so bad by the tme I finished readin, I couldnt look at the page any more, so i decided to finish it later.  last nigth I tried again to do the test, and agin, my eyes were burning, so I put the book down and went to sleep. That helped.

Today was Claires birhtday, and since she just got her own place, i decided to get her something she would need for her new apartment, towels. Two sets and a set of kitchen towels, at least she has a start.

Anyway, I started out this morning at 8 am headed towards Target. I got everything I needed there, including a Banana mocha frapacino on the wayout the door from starbucks. Oh yummy that was good. From there I went to Eye Exam2000. My eyes have been changing for the last few years, but I have been trying to make single vision last for as long as I could. Well, this is as long as I could. Today, I wear no line bifocals.

I also got to Turlock to put the quilt I just made in the shop to be quilted. It is just too big for me to do at home. I also brought in the Katrina quilt to Hospice. That was harder than I thought it would be. I thought I would be able to just walk in, explain why Iwas giving it to them, and be on my merry way. But as soon as I started talking, the dam broke and it was all over. Im ok as long as I dont think about how much i miss my mom. thats another blog for when I need to release emotions on paper again.

Anyway, I took Claire to lunch for her birthday and then back to Modesto and it still  wasnt even 100. i dropped off claire at her house, picked up my finished glasses and got home in time to try out my new mop. OH boy.  and it still was only around 330 when I finally said I was done for the day.

I dont get extra days off like that very often, so when I do, I have to make them count. I am just happy the quilt will have a good home now. I asked the ladies to give it to someone special, and they told me they would find a special person for the quilt.
