Entry for June 01, 2006

I just looked at the last time I wrote anything on my own page. It was this past weekend. Its my turn now, I havent finished rading all the blogs and comments, but they arent going any where. I was think of writing about what a really good weekend I had, I got so much more done than i thought I would. I wa so proud of myself for that, but ok, that is over.

I thought about writing about that I had to work ot yesterday. I didnt get to sleep until  after 2 and woke up 25 minutes before I was supposed to be at work again. I was dressed and out the door in micro minutes. I got to work just in time. I was reqally tired yesterday. But thst is so over done also.

So many times I have wanted to write about the most irritating Ice cream man in the nation. He lives in my neighborhood. Maybe his relatives or friends hang out around your house. Actually there are two of them. The one really irritating guy, circles our block. You can hear that horrible high pitched music blasting from his little truck, no matter where he is. I swear, he sits in one place and just waits for some kid to come and buy his overpriced stale ice cream cones. He starts around 10 in the morning. Drives about 5 mph up and down our block, stops for a while, then circles again. he circles in a couple differe tn directions, but you can hear that horrible noise, no matter where he is.

The other one, doesnt come around as often, THANK GOD!!! He has the creepyest music, then this scary laughing cackle then the scary music again. It sounds like a haunted house kind of music. I would never let my kid buy overpriced icecream from him. That guy just creeps me out. I figure, with Ice cream men like this, who need terrorests. Just have your local ice cream an circle your naighborhood till every one is crazy and ......... well, you know waht will happen.

Any way, since everything I was gonna talk about is already said, now i also dont have anything to talk about.  So see ya ll next time. Have a good day.Image

The Pic is the wine barrel fountain in our back yard. I just love the sound of the water splashing. As the grape vine grows behind it grows, it starts to dip its leaves into the barrels, I call it from vine to wine.

Today i am a cooking fool. My sister had a recipe for english muffins, and we tried them. They are so good. Forget thomas's. Its homemade from here on out. They are really good. I am also making cookies, chocolate chip w/walnuts and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip w/walnuts. I am gonna send some to my son and his room mate. His room mate let me call him when my sons phone was stolen, alomg with his laptop. (see Ambers Blog comments for today) He was so nice about texting me and making my son call me back, I have to say thank you somehow, this is something I know how to do that most people like, and I like doing it.  I also want to send some to my friend, but I need her address. I know where she lives, and how to get there, but dont know the address.

My house smells so good. That is a definate bonus to baking. Your house smells like wonderland for a whole day, yum yum. I dont really have a whole lot to chat about today.  After the cookies are done, Im gonna go buy the back for my quilt. It turned out so pretty. I think it loks like  stained glass.  I was gonna put a pic of the cookies up here, but I dont know how to put two pics on one blog. Mike or Amber, here is another question you can help me with.  I will just have to make two blogs today.

I need your help Please

The Katrina Quilt

As I said before, last year I made a quilt I intended to donate to Victoms of the Katrina catastropy.

I happened to be off work, due to surgery and had time on my hands, when I wasnt helping with my mom.  When Katrina hit, as we all were, I was devastated at the destruction that those people had to endure. My heart was broken for them. I wanted to do something, but I was limited. I finally realised I could do the one thing I felt I did fairly well, and that was make a quilt for someone, at least I could help someone stay warm for a while.  So I found the pattern and bought the fabric I needed and went to work sewing. I was so proud of myself. I was going to help, in my own littleway.

By the time I completed the quilt, I started to try and find a way to deliver it. I went on line to the quilt website and found out they had already shipped out all the donated quilts and said they didnt need any more. I was afraid to ship some other way, through a truckload of stuff kind of way. I had this big fear that someone would steal it and take it home for themselves, with all the stories on the news of theft from some people, I didnt want to take a chance. It probably wouldnt have happened, but I am paranoid sometimes.

So, now I have this little quilt. It would be good for a child, probably a little girl. I could give it to anyone, but it was intended for someone who ended up with nothing. Who through no fault of their own, lost everything they ever had from the heavy hand of mother nature. It would probably be just heavey enough for the warm nights on the biyou, (is that how it is spelled)? It is made with lots of love and good intention.

I need help getting it to someone that will use it and still fits that description. Please, dont ask for it just cus you think I will give it you. I really want to give it to a Katrina survivor. If you are a survivor or know someone who is, please respond to this post.

Slow mail

I was online reading everyones stuff, cus i just love to read everyones blogs and their comments. this was after i read my own of course. Then, I got a message that I had a message. So I checked it out and lo and behold, I had already read it, and had started reading all the other blogs and posting messages. The mail announcements on yahoo are  really slow.  I need to post another serious blog sometime soon. I made a quilt last year for a hurricane Katrina victom and I dont know how to deliver it or who i send it to. My next post will be that, along with a picture. More detail will be in the post, but I have to do that. It is haunting me.

I think I need to upgrade my puter agin. I need more rams or something. You know, the speed things. Yesterday, after I did my blog, it took forever to download the pic and say i was finished. That will drive me bonkers pretty soon. So, into the shop she shall go pretty soon.

Any way, yesterday was my husbands birthday. Now we are both 48, hmph. I made him breakfast and did the dishes. Then got a whole chapter and a half done of school work. When I am taking my tests, it is open book, duh, its home study. So, I should be getting 100%. I seem to always miss one. I am sitting at 96% for most of my tests. That is driving me nuts. Sometimes I am a type A person.  Get used to it, I try and tell myself, but nooooooo.

I tried to stay away from the puter yesterday cus I can find myself glued here when I get bored. It doesnt matter that I have other things I can be doing, I have blogs to read and write, things to look up, spider solitare to play. And besides, there is no furniture to sit on, hence I am here again, at 358 am.

And why am I here so freakin early? because I fell asleep at 530 pm yesterday. We went to Red Lobster for dinner, Johns favorite place, for the moment, it changes with his moods. I had two coloda drinks and stopped, the whole designated driver thing. yum they were good. Then we had dinner. I had shrimp trio and couldnt eat the whole thing. I only ate the shrimp anyway. The rice was so salty and had some soysauce clump of something nasty in it. Gave a couple shrimp to John, he loves seafood. And brought the rest home. So I had about 12 shrimp and got freakin full. I didnt even eat the cheese biscuits. Then my eyes started to burn. Well, it was during the whole dinner, my eyes were burning. I just wanted to close them.  I was wondering if maybe I had allergies. I dont normally have allergies, but this year is bad due to all the rain we had(watch out east coast, thats comin next).

So, when we got home, I watched tv in out room so I could sit on something comfortable(the bed), remember, no furniture. I think I was out in a half hour. I woke up at 1130, took off my cloths and went back to sleep. So here I am in the dark part of the morning, tappin on my keyboard to a few people that read this silly fodder. Good morning to you. I have to go back to sleep today around 5 for work tonight, so this isnt that bad. Maybe I will go sew, or eat the rest of my dinner. That pasta was so good.

By the way, the pics are just pics i took around my yard. Nothing special, just playin with the cam. Hope ya like em.

More Friday Fodder

I cant beleive its been a week since I was able to sit down here and put somethng on this page. Its not that what I have to say is so important,it just make me feel better to get some things off my mind. This week in the news, The Mexican consulate stated that if any people were detained trying to cross the border into the US, they would press charges, using the US court system. What is wrong with this picture? So now, they are going to say it is illegal to try and keep out illegals????? This battle gets stranger every day.

I am just wondering, what are the immigration rules to other countries. Ive heard of Americans being in danger in the Middle East, just because they are americans, and this was before we went over there. Are people allowed to just enter other countries without Visas and are the other countries expected to take care of them and give them work. How long are they allowed to stay there, without being documented as a non-citisen. This whole thing will bother me Im sure for a very long time.

When I left work this morning, I was supposed to have to work tonight. As I said before, I hate OT. Anyway, I slept all day, no sleep problem here, not during the day anyway. I woke up at 7 tonight and stumbled around the empty living room. I didnt actually stumble, cus there is nothing to stumble over. Nothing, it is empty. We gave our furniture to a womens shelter and they were happy to get it. It was still kinda nice, good condition. But last sunday, Mothers day, after brunch we went to the furniture store. I was driving, so John had no choice but to go with me, HAHAHHAHA a trapped man. AS I said a few weeks ago, He wanted new furniture, but wouldnt go into a store, just liked to look at the papers and talk about what they had on sale. He wanted a Lazyboy, leather.

I had been in this store before, a few times actually. It is a very nice store, very good quality and very good prices. So we start walking around and looking at stuff. He would sit down here and there and make some negative comment about how he would know when he saw what he wanted. Yeah right. Ive shopped with him, he will never know. Finally, a salesman asked what we were looking for and the selling started. He took us back to the first chair John sat in and told him about it. Said it was better than lazyboy and told him why. Suddenly, he (John)was happy. He said I could get what ever I wanted as far as a couch, he just wanted his leather recliner. I already knew what I wanted, and the sales man took us straight there. It was almost like it was scripted. OH yeah. The Micro Fibre reclining couch and chez lounge. OMG. this is the best. I call it a Cloepatra couch, A one person couch. The chez that is. We were able to deliver our old stuff today, and Sunday we will get the new stuff. I can live without furniture for a day.

Anyway, as I started to say, I was supposed to have to work tonight, but tonight, about 9  I got a call from work and they told me I dont have to come in. So, I will take a sleeping pill and go right on back to sleep,no problem. An as long as you dont take them all the time, they arent addicting. So try them Fuzzy. tomarrow is Johns birthday. Dont know what we will do. I am hoping to get some sewing done. And also, another chapter of schoolwork.

Hi. My wonderful bloggin Buddy, Amber helped , well, she set me up with a myspace site this last weekend. It is such a cool site. She did an awsome job, cus i just dont know how to do much of anything, really. As far as the glitter and goodies go. Anyway, I am trying to learn how to navigate myself around my little page there and read the messages and diferent things people write. So today, I am on there and there is a few messages I wanted to delete, from some guy who takes care of the myspace thing/site. So I checked the little box next to his comments, thinking I would only delete his comments, but the whole page disappeared. I dont know if I read all the things on that page. Now i am afraid to hit the delete key on myspace, it didnt eve ask me if I was sure if i wanted to delete my whole page of commentsImage I know now to be more careful. Lesson learned.

I think it is easier to blog here, but it is more entertaining on myspace. All my neices and nephews are there too, along with my son. He doesnt go online much, he is in school and doesnt have a lot of time. anyway, that is all i have for right now. hope all is wel with everyone. This is a really boring blog today, but it lets me get it out of my brain, so im happy.see ya later

The end

About that time, Jessie heard her mom call her. "Jessie, have you seen Arron, he said he was coming out to play with you" "Yes mommie, he is here with us, he is ok Mom"

They were having a lot of fun. Branden looked up and saw his mom standing on the porch of their house. He knew she was going to tell him to come in for lunch. They had been playing for a while and he rememberd his mom telling him lunch would be ready.

"Well, Jess" Branden said, "I guess I better get in the house. My mom is going to be calling me back home anyway. I can see her up there now getting ready to call me if I dont go on in. So maybe we can play later on, OK?"

"OK Branden I had so much fun being a dinosaur. You always have the best ideas." Then they both said goodby for a while and went back into their houses.

Friday Fodder

What Kind of car do You Drive

From the time we are kids and able to get our drivers licence, we start thinking about the car of our dreams. I used to play a game with my oldest son. We would see really cool cars as we were driving. We would try and find cars that I would look good in. We found some pretty cool cars. I would say Hey Anders( his name is Andy, but  call him Anders) look at that car, wouldnt I look good in it? And of cource, he would agree. I love my babies. We were picking out all kinds of cars, but none of them weould ever be mine.

MY first car was a lime green 71 Dodge Deamon. That heap of metal could fly. She was very heavy, probably the safest car I ever had. If I was ever hit, I dont think I would have felt it, too much.

Anyway, none of the cars I ever drove were actually mine. I owned them with my husband. That is not such a bad thing, but they werent mine. They wernt what I wanted, what I alone dreamed of, what the car of my dreams was. Those cars got me from here to there.

Then, Chrysler came out with the PT Cruiser( this is where we hear angels singing) and I saw the car of my dreams. I hadnt even seen the inside of it. I couldnt remember the name, I just knew it when I saw it I had to have one. It took me forever to remember the name of the car. I just knew it looked like and old style gangster car. I was in love with a car. Every time I saw one, I longed, yes longed, for a cruiser. I knew I would have one.

Finally, last year, February 13, my husband and myself went to the chrysler dealership and purchased my first brand new car and it was a shiney new red PT Cruiser. I just love my Cruiser. It is the base model, but it isstill the best car. And, it kicks ass over the mountains getting to Santa Cruiz to see my sisters. I was passing up fast cars, and looking rather smug as I was doing it. John wouldnt let me get  the turbo Version, I wonder why.

So, now tell me wht kind of car you drive and  does it fit your personality? Just wondering on this silly Friday Fodder day.

Entry for May 11, 2006

It must be a slow week. Or everyone is busy. More than likly it is that everyone is busy. Summer is here, or the spring/summer start. Folks are able to leave their inside domains. Do stuff with the family, and they should, so less stuff on the blog pages. In a way, that is good. I am goin to assume, that is because we are spending more time with our familys. The days are longer, so maybe folks are outside breathing real air for a while. The only reason I have time tonight is because, well, I just took it.

I was reading on Jens blog how the poor lady was bombarded with obsene requests when she was first featured on the "Interesting Blogs " page. I remember that Emily  went through a similar experience. How sad. What should be fun, is turned into something that could be traumatic, well, not traumatic, but certanly not fun. What some people feel they can post just because we cant see your face???  And the thing is, when you go to check out their profiles, there isnt one. They arnt even mature enough to create a profile and they want this personal stuff from you.  What does this say about how some people are raised these days. Not much. Personal morals and ethocs have left the building.

About twice a week I get invitations from someone to be on my friends list. I check out the profile, and if its empty, its deleted. Yep, the delete key is my best friend on the keyboard. This morning, I decided it would be ok to chat with some guy from NY. It turned out he was actually in VA at the time, he had moved. I guess its as good thing they cant see you. I was laughing so hard the whole time. He was telling me how good looking he was, he didnt have a pic of himself. Brn hair n eyes, hard body, and juicy lips?????? What the hell are juicy lips. I want you to know i was hysterical. Then the topper, he gave me his cell number and wanted mine. He waited for me to get a pen...... ON LINE, HE WAITS FOR ME TO GET A PEN!!!!!OMG!!!!! Then asks, are you ready, and gives me his number and asks for mine. Then says, call me. lmao. So I told him I had to go and logged off. OH, and he kept calling me baby, that was gonna do the trick for me. Thats all it takes to get a lady to talk to you. too much.

Anyway, I just thought taht was so funny. I guess there really is no online etiquette. You can do what you want, say what you want, and until check the do not call back box, they can just keep on buggin you. For the most part, you are never going to actually meet the people you insult or embarrass, so I guess for some, it doesnt matter. I am happy I have my little circle of 360 friends and I am choosy who I invite and except from.

Thats all for now. The weekend is coming and I hope you all have some wonderful plans. Have a good time.

Entry for May 06, 2006, story

As they watched the A-pod walk silently back into the forrest, it gave them both a very sad feeling. They looked at each other and wondered why he didnt have any friends. Pink spoke first, "Scary, why doesnt anyone like the Arronopods? How come they dont have any friends? Look at him, he looks so sad." She was right. The arronopods head was hanging so low, and every once in a while, his whole body would shake. Even from across the river, they could see it. Pink thought for sure he was crying. Poor Arronopod.

When Scary answered, Pink was very surprised to hear what he said. " I dont know why he doesnt have friends, Pink. Maybe if he had a friend, they would find he was fun, and not pesky. Want to swim back and see if he wants to play?"

Pink was so happy to hear this. She couldnt bear to watch this other dinosaur be so sad. She knew they were always alone, but she didnt know why. This was a good time to make a new friend. Since Scary had a louder voice, he called out to the A-pod to stop. They both jumped back into the river to swim back across. The A-pod didnt hear, so Scary screamed again, and Pink joined in. They were both screaming for the A-pod to stop.

They saw him stop and turn around. He was looking at them from the edge of the forest. He almost disappeared. They almost lost another friend. They yelled at him to stop, they wanted to play with him. The Arronopod had heard this before from other, bigger dinosaurs. He had been fooled a lot of times into thinking they wanted to be his friend. He didnt want to be fooled again, so he turned one more time to go back into the forest.

"PLEASE STOP!" yelled Pink and Scary at the same time. They were swimming as fast as they could to get to the other side. It was harder to swim back across the river because of the way the river turned. But they kept on swimming. Pink was getting very tired, but she wasnt going to stop. She had to get back to the A-pod. She had to make him feel better. She wanted to be his friend. Scary was right beside her, making sure she was able to make it back across. She was his best friend, he couldnt let anything happen to her.

It seemed like forever, but they finally crawled out of the river. They could only lay there for a few minutes. They were so tired, but they checked to make sure the A-pod wass still there. When they looked up, they could see he was still standing there. A smile was starting to appear on his A-pod face. He walked closer to the other dinosaurs, slowly, because he didnt know what they were going to do. He was just a friendly kind of Pod, he just wanted to play, that is all. If only someone would play with him.

When Pink and Scary caught their breath, they asked the A-pod what he was called. He replied"my mom calls me A-ron, so i guess if you want to be my friend, you can call me that too. "

Entry for May 05, 2006, story

Jess and Branden stopped what they were doing to watch the rabbit run away. They started laughing so hard, they forgot they were supposed to be Dinosaurs. Jess asked Branden, "Did dinosaurs laugh like that?" And they started laughing again.

When they returned to being dinosaurs, Jessie led the way this time. She was walking slowly and looking both directions, watching for any danger signs in the area. While they were walking, they would stop every once in a while just to look around, sniff the air, and make sure they were safe. Even though Scary was a tough dino, there were still other dinos to be aware of.

From out of nowhere, an Arronopod came running toward them! They could here him screaming, making them aware they were in danger. Arronpods were pesky little creatures. They couldnt cause a whole lot of damage, but once they saw you, they follow you around until you can loose them again. Sometimes they bite your tails, not real hard, but hard enough to make it hurt. Poor Arronopods, they dont have a whole lot of friends. Maybe if they werent so pesky, they would have a friend.

"Run Pink run" Screamed Scary from behind. He stayed behind Pink to make sure the pod couldnt get to her. He knew she could not defend herself against a pod of that size."Faster Pink" they could see the water up ahead and knew they had to reach it to be safe from the Pod.

Pink could see the river up ahead. She knew the pods couldnt swim and the only way to escape would be to make it to the river before the pod could catch them. Pink heard Scary yelling at her to run faster, and she was trying. As they ran, they could see all the other creatures in the forest getting out tof their way. Little flying things were coming out of nowhere to avoid being stepped on by the running dinosaurs.

Suddenly, she could feel the water on her feet and she knew she would be safe. She kept on gong deeper in the river until she was swimming to the other side. Pink looed behind her to see if Scary was there. There he was, right behind her. She felt so lucky to have a friend like Scary. They finally made it to the other side and crawlewd out of the water. When they looked to see if the Arronopod was still there, they could see he had turned and was walking back into the forest. They were safe, for now.

OK, now I want Jess and Branden to tell me what they want to happen next. If someone else wants to contribute, feel free, be a part of the story. Remember, their moms have lunch ready for them, and they have to go eat soon.

HI any one who happens to pop in here. It has been a while since I tapped on the keyboard for a blog. When i get off work, sometimes I just cant seem to get my mind to blog mode. I can comment on blogs, I just cant do my own. Well, we have some construction goin on at work in the area I work in. They are expanding, which means more Cheetos for everyone, Yeeeha!Image Anyway,I didnt have to work Last night, cool huh? I dont know what I did all day, bought my best friend her birthday present, hope she likes it. I fell asleep at 6 pm. Out cold.Image Woke up on the couch at 1am and went to sleep again in bed. then, slept again, out cold, until 6 am.  WOW! 12 hours. I never sleep that long. Ever. And it feels good. Ususlly I sleep 6, maybe 7 hours. off and on. When you work graveyard, or 3rd shift, midnight to 8 am, sleep is a very important part of your day. Alot of 3rd shifters, especially the folks with kids and family at home, dont get goood sleep. It is broken into peices. 3 or 4 hours here and there.

So today, I am going to clean my house, go to Costco, try and get a chapter done of school work and I woulld like to start a new quilt with the scraps from my other quilts. ImagePretty big agenda. I will probably do the schoolwork tomarrow. OH, and I need to do another chapter of the blogstory for my grandkids and Branden. It is right after this. That has been driving me nuts. Does anyone besides Amber and Tania read that? ImageIt must not matter to anyone else, or they would be asking me what is going to happen.

I like to see the numbers of pageviews to peoples sites. Some people have a huge amount of pageviews. Into the thousands. I always wonder exactly what is a page view??? do people pop in and out without reading your blog, do they actually read it, and if they do, did they like what they saw. It doesnt really matter, of course.Image just another silly thing to think about. Those kinds of things dont hurt the brain too much.Image I guess its better that everyone doesnt comment on every blog they read, then no one would be getting anything done, HUH ??Amber??? Never mind, some people have huge hearts and not enough time.  I think I am starting to ramble. I need to get started on my list of things to do. So, I hope eveyone has a wonderful weekend. The sun is shining here in sunny California, at last. So I need  to get started before it heats up my house too much.
