I have been reading pages on everyone elses blogs. For the life of me I have nothing to say. Its still triple digets here. Supposed to be 106 today I beleive, day 12 of this crap. This is really sad, but seniors citizens and animals keep getting found dead from the heat. It s not because they dont  have AC, it s because they feel they cant afford to use it, for the most part, or they may be homeless, or it could just be something else. But we are loosing our people to this heat. That is a very strange concept for me to grasp, for some reason. The heat wave is all accross California. Yesterday I had heard 83 people died due to the heat. Sad.

And I started by say I have nothing to say. I also looked at the 360 site. They write blogs, and suggest blog topics. The one I read had 442 or something like that comments. I read them all, just to see if anyone I knew responded to their blog. Only one person that I recognised, but I cant remember her name, sorry. I remember her picture thingy, a lady in a rowboat. I  didnt respond because I  dont think they read them. Why on earth would I write something that noone is going to look at. If there was some way to ask them a question, and they would respond, then I would write to them.  Oh, and by the way, the most recent blog topic suggested from the 360 group is , If you were sucked into a tv show for 24 hours, which one would it be?

Things have been really slow here in blogland. Amber is working long hours, Em was  on     vacation, now Mavis is. Fuzzy is dealing with family matters. I think it might just be that it is summertime, and people have other things to do. That  is good, I guess. Especially if you have kids, or a family, you need to spend time with them. Sometimes I wander from my friends pages to their friends pages to see what they do. I like to read different posts, from people I dont know. soemtimes I leave a note and let them know I was there, a lot of times I just read and leave. I find it hard to leave a note sometimes to someone I dont know, there is a little bit of shyness in me, dont know why, but that part is there.

Sometimes I   land on a page that totally blows me away. The things people will post, I just cant hardly believe. For some reason, I figured this would be a clean sort of thing, but not on everyones page. I ave run into some major porn stuff here on 360. OH well, each to their own, I dont have to go there, and I f I happen to land there, I dont have to stay.  Im not talking about the girls on motercycles   type pics, Im talking real porn, ICK.

Ok, so that is it for todays really boring blog. I will be going to SantaCruz again this weekend for my neices wedding shower. She is getting married on August 19, that is when I get to give here that quilt, I am  so excited about that. I am hoping everyone has a really great weekend. Be safe, and have fun at the same time. Is that possible? hmmmm

What an incredibly boring weekend. It was too hot to go outside, 111 here in modesto for two days. Im staying in  during that kind of heat. It would make me sick to go outside, no pool to jump into. I did get some sewing done. I have the finished border for the quilt when it comes out of the shop. I also made nightstand covers  that will match the quilt, I had extra fabric, so what the heck, I had to do something. 

I have taken two test this weekend, well from thursday to today. I got 100% on one and 90% on the other, Im still at 95 GPA, so that is still good. I only have 9 more to go, 27 total chaptors. I cant wait to be finished. I want out of my current job so bad. I just want o work normal hours. The garbage that goes on there is a bunch of crap also, but that thappens everywhere. You have to learn to avoid as much of it as you can, do a lot of duck and cover.

The other day I did my Costco thing.  I saw they had sports bras. I had never seen sports bras at costco, or any bra for that matter. A friend of mine said that is all she wears at work cus they are so much more comfortable. So I bought a pack.  OK, Im sold, no more regular bras at work for me. Or any other place if I can help it. these are much more comfortable than a regular bra. I know, some of you are saying, "OMG lisa/spartonmom, your getting a little personal arent you?"  Well, maybe, but I said it was a boring day, and this is what is on my mind. If you are a smaller female, you may not understand about this , but for those more bustier women on the blog, i think you know exactly what I am talking about, anything to make those ladies more comfy, the better.

did you see the hummingbird in the picture today? My neice took it at her grammas/my sisters house last week. she has a really good camera. she almost walked right up to the thing while it just hung there and waited for the photo op. those little birds are amazing. Anyway, i have to get to bed for a little sunday nap before i go to work. Hope everyone is having a good week/end. I jjst wish this heatwave would end. Its Gettin Hot In Here!!!

Ya know that song! Well, its HOT. Its in just about every blog I look at. It doesnt matter where that person is bloggin from, it is HOT. I am bloggin from California, and its HOT. Amber is bloggin from the UK, and its HOT. The rest of us are bloggin from somewhaere in between, and it is HOT. It seem sort of strange to me that there is a heat wave over such a large area. There have been a few storms blow through, leftovers from a hurricane or some tropical storm somewhere, but they are HOT storms. It cant even cool down to rain, its HOT rain for cryin out loud!

I wish I could get back in that pool, it sure would feel good. I noticed a white spot on my shoulder yestderday. I couldnt really see what it what it was, so I went to the mirror, and I am peeling from last weekend. Its just a little spot, but I hate to peel, it is so ugly. 

I didnt have to work last night, so I took a sleeping pill, just one, and slept all night. Hopefully, I will be able to stay awake tonight till it is a normal time to go back to sleep. Its 8:02 here and its already hot. I have a few things to do today, not a lot, or anything really pressing, except get my nails done and go to Costco. There is so much of nothing going on here, I just dont have anything to talk about, so I wont. Until I have something to say again, I will signe out for today. Hope everyone is staying inside and cool and having a wonderful weekend.

I am so happy. I put my quilt in the shop to be quilted and told the ladies it was for my neices wedding on the 19. They are going to call me on the 15 to pick it up. I will have just 3 days to get the borders finished. I told you I would get some pics of the machines used to dothe quilting, well, here it is. As you can see, the quilt is rolled onto long poll like thingys and stretched tight. As each section is complete, it is rolled up into the roller on the backside, and then you just start a new section until the quilt is complete. A randon print is sewn inthe the quilt, repeating itself over the whole peice of fabric. It just goes from one end of the fabric to the other. I could have had it quilted in another shop, and they would have charged me quite a bit more and it would have had a custom job and also be done next week, but I just couldnt afford that, the price was prohibitive,125.00, and that wasnt the batting, rememeber, that is the stuffing between the front and back fabric. Anyway, it will be ready in time.

OK, on to other stuff. I am so happy I left town this weekend. It was no kidding, 105 to 110 this weekend. It was only in the low 90's in Santa Cruz. We had a great time. I got to see my family and my neice, who is my same age. I took a bunch of pics and we all were able to share tham back and forth from our little tiny disks. Arent they just so amazing, take 100 pics and store them on a little 1 inch peice of plastic, then add the pics from another 1 inch piece of plastic to your piece of plastic, and you have each have allthe pics taken over the weekend. It is just amazing, when you think it.

Anyway, we ate, swam, and drank this weekend. I did get burned,but not real bad. My head got burned, and that freakin hurts. I think I bumped it sometime, I keep touching a spot that feels like I have an injury. I never got drunk, but i also dont remember bumping my head that hard. For the record, I like to have a few drinks, but I hate being drunk, I usually slow down when I start feeling too much alcohol.

My sisters are finally getting cams on their puters, and i was able to talk to one of them this morning. I loaded the cam for my other sister onto her laptop before i went home on Sunday. I bought a sorta inexpensive cam, 20.00 and a 9.00 mic. I think mine works pretty good. The pic is clear and sound is good. My sisters got 100.00 setup and the pic is really choppy, but clear. Sound is here and there, but good when you do hear it. I think my setup is pretty good, What do you think Amber, the pricey one, or the affordable one. I also found out Im also almost out of memory, and that may be why my puter is going so slow at times. It is a little faster since I downloaded my collection of pics to a disk or two.

Im going away for the weekend to see my sisters and neice in Santa Cruz.  I dont go to the boardwalk any more. dont know why, I guess I would rather visit my family then spend 40.00 a day to go on a few rides. I could go to the beach again, see the part I used to play in when i was a kid. (see the pic of me on the beach) front page. It seemed so big to me at the time. Like it was so far to the water, but when I go back and look at it, its no that far, from the parking lot to where we used to lay our blanket down.  there was a stream of water that flowed to the ocean, it was about five or six feet wide and maybe four feet deep. My mom told me these numbers one time. I rememeber my sister trying to carry me throught the water to the other side, where everyone sat on the rocks. As she got deeper in the water, I started screaming and climbing up her back, I almost drowned her. My mom told her to take me back before I killed both of us. I was no fun, I cried at everything. I was scared of everything when I was a kid. But especially water, cus I dont swim very well. My dad tried very hard to get me to learn to swim better, but as soon as something touched me in the water, that was it, i panicked. We didnt swim in pools very much, always in rivers and lakes, so things touched me. eweswewewwe. When i was a kid, real little , I even thought sharks lived in pools, but for soem reason I couldnt see them, them, they would appear when I got in, then eat me up.  I dont know when this thought went away, thank God it did. How embarrassing would that be to say i was afraid of sharks in pools. anyway, Im rambling again.

Anyway, I will be gone this weekend. having fun. yippee

Im going away for the weekend to see my sisters and neice in Santa Cruz.  I dont go to the boardwalk any more. dont know why, I guess I would rather visit my family then spend 40.00 a day to go on a few rides. ITS DONE! ITS DONE! ITS DONE! I HAVE TO GET THE BACKING AND PUT IT IN THE SHOP, BUT IT IS DONE, DANCING, TWIRLING, JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND CLAPPING MY HANDS, ITS DONE. I WILL PUT ALL THE PICS I TOOK IN THE ALBUM, IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM. I AM SO HAPPY. I CAN CLEAN MY SEWING ROOM AND GET UP ALL THE SCRAPS OF THE FLOOR. tHSI IS THE SECONG TIME I HAVE MADE A QUILT OF THIS MAGNITUDE BY MYSELF, AND IT TAKES A WHILE, AS YOU CAN SEE IT WOULD. I TRY NOT TO PIC OUT REALLY DIFFICULT QUILTS, EXCEPT FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS. I HOPE THE NEXT SPECIAL OCCASION IS IN TWO OR THREE YEARS. LOL IT WONT BE OUT OF THE SHOP FOR A WHILE, SO THE BRIDE AND GROOM WONT SEE IT FOR A WHILE, BUT THEY WILL GET A PIC OF IT IN A CARD FROM ME. IM FEELING MIGHTY PROUD OF MYSELF RIGHT NOW, SOMEONE BETTER GRAB ME DOWN, CUS CLOUD NINE CANT STAY UP FOR EVER.

I know, i am supposed to be sewing and not blogging until I ge tthis quilt done, but I just had to show you guys how far I have gotten. I still have to sew the strips together. they are draped over a rod in my sewing room, next to each other how they will look when they are done. then, all I have to do is sew on the border, and buy the backing and take it to the shop. i am very happy with how it is turning out.

Alex is leavin today. We had a good visit,i think. He did a lot of fun stuff this time. Went to Santa Cruz, and the boardwalk with Claire for a few days, San Francisco via Bart the other day. He went to see his granny's gravesite while he was here, since he didnt get to come home for the funeral. And had hiw wisdom teeht pulled. He healed up well. I will miss him, but he is doing the best for himself. He graduates with his A n P in December, then starts on his Associats then his Bachlor. After that , he plans on the Airforce to finish learning what he wants to learn. I know I already said this, but i just have to brag.

The one downer on this visit, he lost his phone the monday after he got here. He set it down next to the computer on a table, it had died, and then he doesnt remember seeing it again. It is a small room. Couldnt have gone far. I have checked every where. We do have insurance on it, but this will be the second one replaced in two months. When alex looses something, it falls into the black whole of never gonna see it again. You never find the stuff he looses. really. He lost the keys to his luggagae last time he was here. He was at Claires, cus he wanted to stay there with her. Unpacked, and couldnt find his keys. even after Claire moved and looked for the keys then, no luck, they weree gone. John doesnt want to get him another phone just because he keeps loosing his, the last one was stolen, not his fault, but this time it is just too soon. But then again, what do we pay insurance for. We get to replace two phones a year for 50.00.  We'll see, maybe a new phone will pop into his mailbox anyway.

I have to go get ready to go to the airport. it s still early, but I am still in my jamms. Need to do the whole get dressed thing.  See ya later.

OH, and by the way, if anyone can help me out. I wanted to do the Flicker thing with my photos, but every time I try, I get to the second little box that says I will be leaving a secure area, do i really want to go there and I check the yes box, I get kicked completely off he internet and have to log back on. There must be a setting somewhere that has been set for my safety. What do i do to fix this? I dont know how to contact the yahoo guys, cus they dont have a message  box , they took it down, or never had one. they only other way is to add it to a comment at the end of one of their blogs, oh yeah, that will work. not.

Its Thursday morning, and once again, I got to leave work early. I also dont have to work tonight, as our depart is shuttin down for a major part of the construction going on. I got triple time for working the fourth, so the money is still there. Once again, YEEEHAAA!

I was so happy, I made a plan on my 15 minute drive home, (that would be 30 British minutes for you Amber, the conversion Ya know)  to get home take my shower and get into the sewing room before I knew I was tired. And it worked. I really did it. Now, I am so dangerously close to showing actual progress on the quilt blocks. I have about an hours worth of ironing to do( again, do the conversion Amber) then I can sew the last twp sides to the blocks. I only have 4 more baggies of peices to sew together.  I started with about 12 I think, and Im down to 4, OH Boy! If I keep up like this, I might be done this weekend.

From what I have read,  it looks like everyone had a great fourth. Lots of BBQ's and sparklers. funfun. I came home and slept, then got up and watched tv. I didnt want to get dressed, I like to stay in my jams until the last minute. The kids wernt home, so why go outside n watch. i didnt care. I asked some of the other people at work and they all did the same thing. Sleep is very important to third shift people. We would rather sleep than watch a fire in the sky. Its ok, we were paid well for working that day.

Im gonna get going  on the ironing again. Have to keep the momentum going ya know, or I might just fall asleep. So that is all I have for now. maybe the next time I get to write something, I can show a pic of a strip of blocks. Ok, see ya all next time.
