yesterday i spent the afternoon in my sewing room working a quilt i started a few weeks ago. its a scrappy made from squares i cut a while back. I was trying to create a particular pattern and forgot one step too late. I put the cut pieces back in the dresser where I store my scraps and vowed i would use them one day. so a couple weeks ago, i thought i pulled them all out of the drawer and laid them out to sew. after i had them all sewn, i only had fifteen blocks. crap. so yesterday i went through the drawer again and found a bunch more. I put them all together, then added borders on two sides, and sewed them in strips. everything is pretty random in this quilt. i did try to not have two of the same borders match up, and i think i did it. I got it all finished, using the excess fabric from the last quilt i made for the back. Im gonna give this to the lady that rides to work with me. she dont know it though, that is what makes this fun.
ok, now does anyone collect the state quarters? I do and cant find wyoming or any of the new ones for this year. i could get the collection from the mint, but that would be kinda cheating, dont you think. i have the map on my wall in the puter/guest room and there are empty spaces. i may have to go to the bank and buy ten dollars worh of the latest ones to get any of them. this is the last year, and i think people are hording them, at least the new ones. or maybe im just not looking hard enough. I dont know.
Ok, breakfast is just about done. I am so lucky john makes breakfast every sunday. we are gonna blow up the pool and I am gonna lay in it today. its supposed to 100 today and this heat is too much. its time to fight back with a kiddie pool. lmao. Pictures to come???? I think not.

ReplyDeleteYou should be able to get all the states you need in Vegas - just put a twenty in a quarter slot and cash out. I don't collect them, but dated a guy that did - and managed to get him everything he was missing that way.,

ReplyDeleteOh, and I do not happen to collecting the state quarters, for obvious reasons! LMAO! But I do think it would be cool to collect one from each state I visit and put it in the photoalbum with all the other junk I keep from the trip. I have been to so few states that it wouldn't have to worry about collecting many! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't even pay attention to the coins in my purse, other than to spend them or drop them into my coin jar at the end of the day. I'll dig through and see what I've got, and let you know if there's anything that you've mentioned.

i think i have a few of John and me in there. every time i grabbed the camera, lu, amber and carol in her bloomers jumped out and ran in different directions. all i got was blurs of them streaking and running around the yard
ReplyDeleteoh, and by the way, carol was slammin them down and fighting lu for the last bit of lime for the corona. amber burned out the motor of my blender. I should have got the pic of them all passed out at the end of the day laying on the sides of the pool.
