i have run out of witty titles

Im sitting here with a heating pad on my back and shoulder. i have been doing the same thing at work for too long with out a change and here it is getting me. we have a therapist that comes in during the week and gives us 15 minute sessions. i had one last night and another on thursday night. i am so glad i got signed up when i did. Im usually too late and all the spots are filled. I have a large knot on my upper back and extends into my left shoulder. it will go away, or at least calm down after a while, but till then, its heating pad, ice pack, heating pad ice pack, ibuprofin.

when we went shopping this weekend, we bought a bunch of bananas. the nectarines and peaches looked good too, but we were at costco and we cant eat that many before they go bad on us. well guess what? the nanas are going bad. so i made nana bread. no nuts, im all out. we buy gallon bags of fresh walnuts every year from a guy john used to work with. he only charges like ten dollars for a gallon bag of shelled walnuts. we bought about four bags and we are out. i bake a lot, and john likes to put them in his oatmeal with some cinnamon. if you have ever tasted fresh walnuts, you wouldnt bother with the ones you buy at the store. you have no idea how old they are. and the flavor is fantastic. there are so many different kinds of orchards and trees around here. we are very lucky to have all the fresh produce at our fingertips.

this morning i gave the quilt i made for my friend to her. I knew it was for her when i took out the scraps and started putting it together. she is the kind of person that will give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. sometimes, she takes on more than she needs to, and has a tendency to carry other paoples burdons for them. of cource, they let her. I told her the other day she is being a doormat and people are walking all over her, and she doenst see it. some people need to carry thier own burdons, so they can learn how to take care of it themselves. she is very caring, and wont do for herself like she should. so  before i gave her the quilt, i made her promise not to let anyone take it from her or she cant give it away. she said ok, then i told her to get it out of the back seat. she just loved it. it has frogs all over it, and her mother loved frogs. her mom passed away about the same time my mom passed away. so, anyway, to make a long story longer, she loved it and wont let anyone else near it.it is hers. good, my job is done.

ok, so is this post. see ya later.

  1. What a wonderful thing you did, Lisa. Hope your knot goes away soon - it kind of sounds like you are overdue for a spa day with massage.
And banana bread without nuts - I never really thought about it but I imagine it's just fine. I will occasionally shell walnuts myself, but I reckon they still aren't anywhere near as fresh as your local ones.
Let me know when you make peach cobbler, please.

  2. No witty title needed for this one! I loved reading about the gift of the quilt to your friend. Your generosity of spirit, time, love and friendship is heartwarming.

As for the knots, glad you're taking care of yourself. I'm sure that being online and at a keyboard doesn't help it much, though.

  10. I love Banana Bread and smothering it in real butter! Without or without walnuts it rocks! I too, like John, eat my oatmeal with cin and walnuts...I also add banana! It is so good and filling! Lately, I have been having pecans instead of walnuts, now that is a combinations.

Sorry to hear your back is acting up! That is one thing I have been lucky not to ever have a problem with with. Now if you would like to swap your bad back for my weight, we can do a deal!

It was a very nice thing to give your friend a quilt! You are a lot like your friend, always thinking of others!
