thoughts I had last night

last night I had to work on a line all by myself. I dont mind really. it lets my mind go a little off on a tangent. so this is what i thought about last night to keep my mind entertained.

1. Monday is Ambers real birthday. Im gonna have to send her a video.{ I did that already}

2. I hope my fish are ok. what if they dont survive the night. What am I gonna do. {as soon as I got home I checked them, and fed them. they are fine so far. they stayed at the bottom of the barrells. if it gets too hot in the water, i will put ice in it.

3. I just found out there is another group at work. Now we have a native american group. we have groups for hispanics, aisians, blacks, and gay people. We dont have a group for americans, or for white people. that would be racist. or so im told.

4. if a person is born blind, and never see's color, can they really be racist.? how would they know if they were talking to a person of a different color if they had never seen their own color.

5. I thought of the american negro college fund for some reason. since we really dont use the word negro refering to black people anymore, shouldnt the fund now be called the american african american college fund. cus a mind is a terrible thing to waist.

6. worried about my fish some more. do you know they only remember 3 seconds. as far as they know, they were all born and raised in my wine barrell fountain.

7. if a person is born in africa, but moves to the us and becomes a citizen, but is white, can the still call themselves an african american? {I know they can, but i thought about the reactions it would cause}

These things occupied my brain for a bunch of time last night. In between trying to remember the words to songs I was singing to myself, i kept changing songs cus I couldnt remember all the words. this is how i entertian my brain while im at work. what do you do to entertain your brain. thats all I have for now. have a great week. I will keep you updated on my fish. I know this is keeping you all on the edge's of your seats. lol. now dont forget to bombard Amber with happy birthday wishes.

  3. What a wonderful blog! I have asked myself some of those very questions...i have issues with the United Negro College Fund..not that it is there, but like you said, if we had one called The United Caucasion College Fund, then we would be labled racists. (SIGH)
    I never knew fish could only recall 3 seconds...WOW! So, if you forgot to feed them..they wouldnt recall it anyway or if you did feed them they forget that too?? lol

  5. Um if you have a group for Native Americans, seeing that they are "Native" to America, then you do have a group for "Americans" ... remember, it's us "white" people who are the immigrants, not Native Americans. Well, no wait, you're right, seeing how they didn't call the land we live on now "America" that was penned from the immigrants who came over, they're not truly Americans. Maybe the should be called plain old Natural Citizens, since they didn't call their selves Indians either, that was given to them by the white immigrants, too.

    Hmmm ... that group for Native Americans couldn't very well be that big, considering that they only make up 1% of the U.S. population now. That percentage of the census is counting the ones who have enough Native American bloodline to be a registered member affiliated with a tribe, not counting all those white people who say my great grandmother was part Cherokee (or some other tribe, usually it's always Cherokee) LOL

  6. I also agree a mind is a terrible thing to "waste" , Charlize Theron is actually from Africa and she does call herself African American and no reactions were caused. As far as the blind person being racist, I don't think "seeing" has anything to do with it, it's more or less the stereotypes caught in the uneducated mind that would make someone racist, rather than their color, so I think a blind person could definitely be racist which is a bit of an oxymoron in itself because those who aren't physically blind but are racist are the ones who are truly the blind. Racism isn't really about the color of your skin, but rather the narrow minded ideas and thoughts of people in regards to another or a group of people. What made you think about all of this stuff anyway? Where did you hear a fish only has a 3 second memory?

  9. I don't know you... I came over from another blog. Your are more than welcomed to your thoughts and opinions as am I. However, these are some really closed minded thoughts... and if you are really so narrow minded that you think that just because someone is Asian, Black, Gay, or Native American (btw, they were here first, it's their America, we just immigrated here and took it away from them) that doesn't make them American, then you got some real issues and I feel sorry for you. "We don't have a group for Americans, or for white people. that would be racist. or so im told." People tend to turn to people just like them, it's a comfort thing, it's hard to have a discussion with a person that doesn't understand your experiences in life... It's ridiculous that people don't care about each other anymore... We as a society spend too much time hating each other for our differences rather than embracing each other because of them.
