ACK! John just told me he heard that google and at & t were thinking of merging. Ok, so is Microsoft and yahoo, sort of. Microsoft is buying yahoo. But he also said they are trying to think of a way to charge us for internet use like the phone is charged. by the minute. Don't we pay enough for our internet use? why is it that everybody that already has too much money wants to separate us from our money. I haven't heard this. I don't know when this is supposed to happen, or if it even is. If anyone has heard this, please let me know.
So I am off to bed now. I had to work late today, and its like the middle of the night for me. I will be delirious pretty soon. Night night
Hi Lisa. Microsoft has put in an offer to buy Yahoo because they want to be able to compete with Google as far as being a search engine. Google doesn't want this to happen, obviously, so they are trying to negotiate something with Yahoo themselves - and possibly a few other companies will jump in with offers.
ReplyDeleteCharging for internet use wouldn't be a Microsoft or a Google or a Yahoo thing - it would be the internet service providers. And actually, it's done now sometimes - on cruise ships, in airports. Think of it like your cell phone. Some people have unlimited plans - some people pay by the minute - some people have free nights and weekends. So it makes sense that internet service could be like cell service.
So I imagine that's what John was referring to. Night now.
