Im a one Gallon donner

I started donating blood maybe early last year or a earlier. It made feel good to do something like that, that I could help someone and never know who the person may be. I could help save a life, in a half hour and never know when it would happen. So I got my 56 day call to come in and donate. They always are low, or so they say. I know they are, but i had been drinking my champagne, it Sunday anyway. That was ok, you can drink before you donate. So i put on my shoes and headed out the door.

When I got there, I had to wait in line at the receptionist desk for  a  few folks in front of me. I get up there, hand over my picture ID and keyring that hold the scanning card for points they give us for donating. We can choose from all kinds of really great things, including a two night, three day stay in a hotel. Pretty good huh? When the lady scans my little card, She told me I was a 1 Gallon donor. I was so excited. I really thought I would stop before I got to 1 gallon. I am so proud of this. And, I cant stand needles, but I just don't look. I keep my head turned the other way the whole time.

I don't have a whole lot more to go on about, OH WAIT, WAIT, COME BACK FOR A MINUTE! I REMEMBERED.  I got my ring. I just love it. It is white gold, no stones, but very pretty cuts to make it sparkle and shine like it has diamonds all around it. I don't know if I could take a pic of it and have it show up as pretty as it is. What really matters is that I love it and it feels right on my hand. I was flashing it around work like a huge diamond. We cant wear stones at work though, and i wanted a band to wear. I am happy.

Ok, that is it for now. see ya all later. don't work too hard this week, share the load and let someone help you carry it.

  1. WOW - you are just one surprise after another........I didn't know you could drink and donate blood (hope if I ever need any, I get yours - wonder if it bubbles).

I'm teasing of course.....You are one of those rare folks that walks the talk and I am quite inspired. And yes, take a pic of the ring - even if it doesn't come out as gorgeous as it is - it will be nice to see what you've been flashing around work. Gotta see what's got you excited about being "taken" (besides that butt).

  2. LOL@EM Hey Vampires like to get drunk too! :P

I'm proud of you Lisa! I think donating blood is one of the best things anyone can do for others. My daughter Andrea had to have a transfusion after one of her surgeries, so thanks to you dear and those like you who donate to save others. Hugss! Oh, I'm not afraid of needles or donating, I'm just far from the big city where they do blood drives.
