the countdown begins

I was going through selections of things to watch from my recordings on my DVR. I record Ellen and Oprah every day, but I only watch them sometimes. Like today, when it is too early for anything but news to be on TV. I know that Ellen is current in its shows, and Oprah was in reruns the last time i tried to watch it. So i was looking through the listings of the last five days of Ellen, and her 50th birthday show was on her. I also have my 50th coming up, so i thought i should watch this show and see if she had any really good ideas for  a 50th birthday party that I could steal. she doesn't know me, so I really don't think she would care. I am watching, but I don't think Heart would come and play at my house, and I am pretty sure Ryan Seacrest is busy. I better just plan my own party.

I don't know what we are going to do on the real big day. I know, we are going away for the weekend on Presidents day, but there is still the real Big Day. I don't know what we will do that day, but I intend to do something. so this morning, as i was leaving work, I was talking to one of the guys I work with. I told him I was turning fity pretty soon. He said fourty, i said no fity. he again said fourty. What a sweety. We all need a friend like that. He is like 24 or 25. that just made me feel good. I need that every once in a while. Anyway, I have decide to countdown to the big day. I am excited about this birthday. I mean, you only get to be fity once ya know.

There was something else I wanted to tell you about last time, but I for got what it was. I will probably remember after I get this posted. anyway, I think i am going to try and snag a nap before I go in tonight. I keep waking up too early again, and that makes working all night tough. If I could just get back to sleep when i wake up at 3 or 4, it would make things much easier. so see ya l later. Hope your having a great week.

  1. I love your attitude! I hope I can maintain such a positive outlook next year when I turn the not quite as big, but still big 40. I have already started brooding about it, but perhaps I shouldn't. I like your idea better, just celebrate the heck out of the thing! I look forward to hearing what you decide to do to celebrate the big event! Hope you have a great Wednesday! :)

  2. Well, I have heard that 50 is the new forty.whatever that means. :) But, I too love your attitude about this! My mom was the same way when she turned 50...and is still the same way getting ready to turn 55! Hmmm....wonder if all your internet buddies got together and wrote Heart..maybe just maybe we could get them to sing at your party...or at least send you a signed CD! :)

Thank you so much mama. all that moisturiser has not been for naught.
Lu, I don't know what it means either. I think its just a way of making us feel like we aren't getting older. or at least fell better about it. and maybe is just that people are so much healthier than they used to be at the same ages.
