Still Raining

As we drove home last Monday, we followed a storm and drove in and out of it. Well, I don't know if it is making news anywhere else, but it hasn't stopped raining since. Every day since last Monday, with the exception of yesterday, it has rained. It did rain last night, and that may count as yesterday, but we didn't see it cus we were sleeping soundly in our 540 TC sheet bed. As i sit here tapping out these words to you, the news is now telling us to be ready for the next set of storms. Evidently, some people were without power for so long, they lost the contents of their fridge. We have dodged the power loss bullet. I don't know how, but we are thankful for it. Yesterday the wind blew so hard. It is starting up again right now. I don't know when it happened, but out neighbors fence is down. We had to replace ours about two years ago, he should have replaced his also at the same time. OH well.

Yesterday morning at around 2 AM I woke up with a screaming headache. I tried to sleep it away, but I know that wont work. at around 4 I got up and took three Excedrin Migraine and went back to bed. Soon after, I was sitting in the shower with the water massaging my head. when the water went cold, i had to get out and try to get back to sleep. then I realised i was hungry and nauseous from it, so i got up and slowly at a yogurt and a banana and then, and only then was i able to get back to sleep. I slept till 8, but still felt like crap for the rest of the day. Migraines do this to me. Even if they go away, they drain me of every bit of energy I may have had. I am gonna have to do some research on this and find out how to reverse this symptom. It sucks to waste a whole day, or even part of a day to a headache.

There is no football on today, and we have nothing planned. I think i will venture into my sewing room and work on the quilt I have started. I haven't been in there for around three weeks, and I really want to get this done, or at least show some progress. I spent yesterday looking into trying to price an Alaska vacation. John wants to have at least one day of fishing. He has always wanted to fish in Alaska. I want the cruise part. Amber sent me a link to help on this quest and also John wrote to alaska chamber of commerce and they sent us a link also. I looked into both pages, there is a lot to look at. He  would also like to spend part of  the trip on a train. I am going to work to incorporate all of this into his dream vacation.  He has wanted this for so long, and I think he should have it. So this is going to be my project to try and get him what he wants, at a really good price.

So that is it for today. I have to get on my merry way and start my day. don't work too hard this week, and I wont either.

  1. 1. Rain - welcome to my world! Having said that it has not rained since last weekend!

    2. Oh baby...bad headaches. You keep saying you are having those! I hope you can either get help for them or find out what causes them!

    3. Thread count.....bash runs into bedroom and looks on her sheet for tags. My sheets are 5 years old and not a single bobble on them. I got them with my whole bedroom set. A comforter, sham, curtains, wall paper...the works. We have been using them ever since. We love them. We did change once and didn't like so went back to these one! Anyone else out there have 5 year old sheets? I am starting to get a complex!

    4. Trip.....wow, it will be amazing...the links were just to get you thinking about what you wanted and the prices. Big John and go fishing as many days as he likes. There will be excursions every fishing village you stop at and even on the train!

    5. Work...I am going back to work on Monday and I am so pleased! One can only take being home for so long! I get bored!

  2. The rain must have moved down south from us. We have had clear and cold all week and yesterday snow. It sucks about the headaches, too bad the 540 thread count didn't cure migraines.

  3. Sounds like a Princess cruise/tour would suit your requirements - and they have the dine when you feel like it option which would be nice if you or John aren't much for having to be ready at a certain time. I haven't cruised Princess - but I've got friends who have used them for Alaska and loved the trip.

And if Amber didn't send you to www.cruisecritic.com - you should definitely go there. The forums are full of information about booking independent tours and I'm sure they list recommendations for fishing tours.

Em, thank you for that site info. I will go there and check it out. at this point, I just want to figure out how to do this booking thing of a trip that isnt preplanned. .

  6. You only book when you know what you want to do. I think you and John should see a travel agent and get them to work it all out for you and then go home and see if you can find it cheaper online. I am sure EM and I could find you a fantastic deal. I know its a bit overwhelming at first but you need to decide exactly what you want to do and then book it. Make sense?

  9. I have some five year old sheets - but they are nice and soft and still in very good shap - and 400 threadcount. But I definitely don't have any five year old undies........

Once you have tried really nice sheets, Amber - you'll never go back. And Lisa - they've started using nicer bedding on the cruises now so you won't have to bring your own sheets ;).
