Tonight i got a call from a charity wanting me to donate to the cause. I know what your thinking, "Lisa weren't you just doing the same thing?" Well, yes and no. I put it out there, and let you make a decision. I wasn't holding you to the phone while I spill out my spiel. I have certain charities I give to, Hospice, Cancer, local stuff. I don't like to give to charities that do cold calls on the phone because I really don't know if they are for real. You know you always hear of scammers setting things up so they look and sound real.
I had to say no. We are doing something right now and i cant add anything extra. Really soon, I wont be able to decrew any more from work. That is so sad. But I was wondering what you do when you answer the phone and a voice on the other end starts in and you cant get them to stop so you can say no. Do you just hang up on them with a simple sorry, not this time. Do you listen to them and act polite, or maybe even just hang up.
Now I am on the Do Not Call list, but evidently this does not apply to these kind folks. But without sounding too bitchy, I have a hard time saying no to these people. you could go broke giving to everyone who calls and wants some of your money. So tell me, how do you handle these calls?
