Here is it. this most historical day. I really do hope that Mr. Obama is able live up to all the expectations he carries. I would almost hate to be him right now, but this is what he wanted when he signed up. Good for him and his family. I wish him success in his four or eight years in this job.
As we worked our way up to this day, all we heard was how He was gonna save the world, so to speak. I wish all the past presidents had this kind of support from the people. it may have made a difference in our history as a nation. this president is not only getting support from the United states, but almost every other country on our world map. In my lifetime, i dont recall seeing this happen. it is very historical for our nation, the first black/white president. sorry for that, he really is half white. I think its about time. for all of our progress as a nation, a super power, wealth, equality, you know all of them, its about time we decided to move forward. you never know, someday we may decide its ok to elect a female.
He has a big task ahead of him. Our economy sucks. we were lied to about that during a time when some of us could have done something to save some of our money. Now we wonder about the future of our 401k's, our pensions, jobs, homes, bills. the list goes on and on. he also has a war or two going on. is he really expected to solve all these problems. these are huge issues to have to deal with. he is ahead of his game though as far as getting his team in place. he appears to be able to hit the floor running, although some of his choices are questionable. he will have to work through that also.
well, i wish him success. I hope the media treats him with more respect than they have some of our past leaders. right now he is Godlike in their eyes, how long will that last? we will see. I hope they respect the distance from his children. they are still innocent and need to grow up. Im sure they will be followed for awhile, I worry about children in the white house. they cant defend themselves. I guess that is what the secret service is for.
I also wonder about Michelle Obama. She seems like a very nice person. many presidents wives take on tasks and become involved in the background of their husbands job. I havent kept up with every word as some people do and have done in this election. i dont think i could handle that. its just too much.
I also am happy for the outgoing president and his wife. He hasnt had an easy time in these eight years. Not many do, but this started bad and just kept going. we dont hear too much about the good he did, and yes, he did have good things he did. we havent been attacked again, and I respect him for that. he kept the bad guys on their own land. well, im sure we will all be able read and hear more about the Bush family in the near future.
well, this is long enough for me today. i know most of you join me in wishing the Obamas success.
What a lovely blog. However, when someone has nothing good to say they should say nothing at all, so I will end my comment here!
ReplyDeleteLove ya baby!
The thing I like most about this President is that he is so open and HUMAN! I think the media likes to make drama where there is none. But Obama has always said that this election and this Presidency is not about HIM or HIS victory. It is about the American people working hard and making the sacrifices we need to get this country back on its feet after years and years of greed and lust for power by some. I know we are in a crisis and its not up to the President to work miracles. The real miracles will be made by the citizens of this country getting up off their buts and getting to the tasks at hand. Yes we will be called on to make sacrifices and it will be hard. But if we work together and love each other and cooperate with each other I think this country can come back from the brink. If we don't it won't be the President's fault, it will be our own. We have a chance to be the change we are looking for. There are many who still say they are sitting back to see him fall on his face so they can say "I told you so." But there are many more who did not want to see him elected who now stand hand in hand together with the many who did, to support him and to wish him the best. Thank you for a wonderful blog Lisa.
ReplyDeleteI will echo Amber's comments so that I don't blog on your blog. lol. I do hope conservatives use this time to regroup and consolidate their message so that when the time comes we can get things headed in the right direction. Good blog Lisa. I only wish I could be as hopeful as you.
ReplyDeleteJolly, I have to say something nice. I have decided to show respect for the position, rather than be depressed. I have been playing the lottery for a while now, HOPING I CAN win. But i havent won yet. i even have a plan, that i could write on paper and distribute, but nothing.I am even playong with a bunch of other people witht eh same intention and goal. lol Until then, I will HOPE we CAN.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are up, you are the presses "golden child", but make ONE mis-step and they will turn on you in a heartbeat!!
ReplyDeleteI wish Obama well...and I wish Bush a happy retirement as well.
I too hope the press and everyone else gives the girls their space....I think it was a wise move to have grama move it for a bit.
GREAT blog my friend!
I too respect the position and I think the president deserves respect. It is unfortunate so little respect was shown for Bush, even on Tuesday at the innauguration. But since I don't support Obama's views or policies, it is difficult for me to say that I hope he is successful in alll he does. There are things I am hopeful that he is successful with, and then there are policies I would prefer he not be successful implementing (if that makes sense). Overall, I am hopeful for our country irregardless of who is in the White House. But I cannot just abandon my views and join hands with someone I don't agree with, but I can agree to disagree with respect.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jolly, very well said. I didnt vote for him either. After . what he is doing today, the next blog concerning him may be on a totally different light. holy crap, he is closing down gitmo within the next year. where are those terrorist gonna go?
