I just posted some pics of what I did this weekend. If you take pics of what you do, it sure makes it seem like you do a whole lot more than you really do. lol When the things you do only take a little while, it can really add up.
Friday morning we got Johns BBQ. He has used it twice and loves it. It smells sooooo good. This kind of smoker is al ittle pricey, but you wont be buying another one for a while.
I put the back on a picture quilt I made. it is really very small, I just wanted to learn how to do it. I know how to do it now. it is all made from scraps and the pics were copied to transfer paper and ironed on the fabric. it was really kind of fun. I also got rid of some scraps.
John and i picked the first harvest of blackberrys. We got so many, and there are still so many out there. I made a few turnovers, and tomorrow i will make a few cobblers. i have a recipe for individual cobbler cups. Very good, yummmmmm.
i bought a Relay For Life T shirt from a lady at work who is running the team this year. I bought a 2 lb bag of stuffing and after I sewed the arms and bottom closed, I filled the shirt with it. then i sewed the neck closed. It is a huge purple pillow, but it is compfy. We will raffle it off at the relay for life. all the money will go to cancer. I dont mind doing this if all the money goes to fight cancer. By the way, I have raised, thanks to friends and family, 245.00. it will be matched by pepsico. All the money we raise will get matched. it just makes me want to work harder.
A funny thing. amber had a photo challenge to take a pic from a doorway. I took a pic from every doorway in my house. maybe because it lets people into your home, but I got more comments on this than anything else I have ever done. It kinda invites your friends in I guess. maybe says welcome to my house, which by the way you are welcome to. Ok, that is what I did this weekend. I did a few other things, like get my hair cut very short, but I think you all know that.
I am going to try and meet John tomorrow morning for the memorial service with the VFW. If I make it, it is right after work for me, I will take a few pics and put them up here.

ReplyDeleteBlackberries already? Are strawberries are only beginning to get flowers right now. We won't be picking blackberries till late summer.

Yep, CArol. We have strawberries already. John got some fresh ones sunday morning. I think because the berries are on the side of the house, it works sorta like a hothouse for them. I am the only one around here getting my berries this early. A lot of people tell me their berries arent ready yet. But the strawberries are in full season.
Yep - we don't get blackberries till late summer either.......and did someone mention cookies?
