Sunday Update

I was gonna do this  yesterday, but again I got caught up doing something I cant remember. anyway, if you remember, it doesn't really matter, but last year at this time i was told i was restricted from donating blood cus I had a bone transplant in my jaw bone. I got a call from them on friday and they asked if I could come in and donate, so I was there on saturday after i did a few chores. I saw one of my team mates from work there also donating. her mom had passed away four years ago and she said she wanted to start a tradition of donating on the anniversary of her passing. what a wonderful thing to do in her honor, help to save another life. I told she should continue to do it when she could, it was a great thing.

after i got out of there, i went over and had a pedicure. what better way to thank myself for doing a good thing than to give myself a gift, and that was I gift i could give myself more often. I love the part where they massage your legs and tootsies and feetsies after the whole taking care of my toes and feet part. oh, and the massaging chair is pretty good too. if I only had a nice glass of wine to go with it, it would been perfect, except i may have fallen asleep.

as you know, john does the shopping in our house. i am just no good at it. and he finds the best stuff. i just go, get what i have to and get the hell out. well john has been waiting for the local strawberry stand to open. he said last week he saw some activity around the stand, but no berry's yet. until yesterday he came home with a flat of really fresh berries. I know, its early, but it doesn't take long here to get berries. my blackberries on the side of my house will be ready in a few weeks, i already have blossoms and small green berries. anyway, after the pedi, i came home and john whipped up a batch of strawberry margaritas. oh yum. alex helped me drink the batch, for the first time in a long time, i needed help to finish off a pitcher. that's ok, i didn't need to drink that much. i hadn't slept that good the night before, and it just wasn't working with me.

well, in just a few weeks, alex will be heading off to the air force. it really hasn't hit yet with me that i wont be able to talk to him any time i want, i will have to make sure he calls every chance he gets, within reason. i have heard he will be able to call, and if he doesn't all i have do is get in touch with the recruiter and they will make sure he calls. i don't know how it works, but i will find out soon enough.

anyway, the sun is out, and should be this way for a few more days. we have all the house fans going and it feels good. it may be time for another pool party pretty soon. 3 lbs, 9.5 inches

that is my latest loss. I have been going to curves now for a full month and i had my first set of measurements. let me tell you, i was so happy! I was in the middle of my workout when the trainer told me my information. I did a victory lap inside the circle and came three feet off the ground. i think i am finally hitting the ground again. Now I have to regain my focus and start a new month of heavy workouts and walking. it seems to be working, so I will continue. happily.

anyway, this past weekend we had a great time. you may have gotten that from my latest facebook comment. I have never seen my son so drunk, and it was kinda funny. but we did eat a bunch too. i dont usually eat the way we did, so it tore me up. i will stick to eating the way we do here at home. keep the fats low and eat a little lighter. it was good food, but i think it did the number for a reason. its still salads I guess.

were having fun with alex. Im not getting to sleep as early as I should, cus i end up staying up and talking to him. him and his friend went to santa cruz yesterday. he is making the most of his free time while he has it.

so im going for my mammogram today. ohhhh, yeah. gotta love the mammo. nothing like squeezing the girls between two ice cold vise like plates. take a deep breath and dont move. umm hmm. like you really can. its a good thing you dont have to do this till after the babies are born, cus I am sure that after this they are broken for a long time. I hate the mammo, but the risk of not getting it is pretty bad too.

so i have to take off now. i only have a half hour. and by the way, its about time steveo is of the dancing with the stars. he is just bad. now I hope you all have a great week.

Flowers in My yard

Its my Friday

Yep, that's right, it is my Friday and I don't have to go back till monday night. I just love a four day holiday. and, to top it off, i got to leave an hour early from work. so, Lorrie and I went to breakfast on the way home. we haven't done that since I started this whole workout diet thing and it felt really good. but then, as soon as I got home, I changed into my walking clothes and went for my walk. i was a little concerned i would cramp up after eating out, but that didn't happen. It supposed to rain today, the sky is grey and it is really threatening. so, there was lots more walkers in the park today, all anticipating the rain. its a good thing any time it rains in california I think, so we don't complain too much around here if it rains, we work around it and say thank you.

as i walked into my front yard, i noticed the rose bush on the other side of the yard again. there are rose buds all over it and the stems are long and straight. I see them every day, but today they looked especially beautiful. I am not a rose kind of person usually, but this year, these are the most brilliant i have ever seen them. I cant take any credit, john takes care of the yard. so i grabbed my camera and started shooting. I added, or should i say and currently loading an album of the flowers in my yard. some of them turned out really good. I may even cut some of these and bring them in to enjoy.

So this morning as soon as i get off here I'm gonna get started on my house. i really, and i mean really need to get this done. i don't know what i have been doing, but it hasn't been cleaning my house. so that is what happening today. this weekend we are going to johns sisters house so alex can see some of his family before he leaves. we will be staying in a hotel, but we are supposed to bring something for dinner on sunday. i had to really think on this, and i decided on a carrot cake. that keeps well as long as I can keep my hands off it. so I am making two. one for us, and one to take.

well, i better get going so I can get my house clean. check out the flowers if you get a chance, they really are pretty. and if i don't talk to you past today, I really hope you all have a wonderful easter holiday,  however you spend it.

Curves, Twitter, n baseball

i am so proud of myself. Im stickein to my workout routine. this week at curves, i got a smart card. the curves i go to has computerised machines that collect your information as you work out. you put your little card in the slot of each machine just before you start your 30 second workout. it turns either green or yellow, you want it to be green. then, when it turns off, you move on to the next machine. I know, it doesnt sound like much, but after the workout, i was beat. when your done with the workout, you put your little card in the slot in the computer that collects all your information. From here, you can see how you did, how many calories you burned, and also where you need to improve. Its really pretty cool, and im hoping it will help me work out better to get rid of this other person.

i wish i could remember what i was gonna  write about. I had this big ole thing goin in my head and i thought about something else for a minute and it was gone. it must have been really important. i looked at my twitter page and my picture showed up.  guess i had to log off, then go back or something. I really dont get what all the excitement is about that page. its not like you can chat, or hold a conversation, or leave a picture. nope, its just a bunch of small statements. I have 4 followers, two of which I dont know. I didnt have to give my permission, they just started following me. why? its not like I was having this really great one sided conversation and they just had to hear the whole thing. nope. i wasnt saying much of anything, but if they want to follow my really exciting one sided conversations, so be it. i dont know how to follow someone, and frankly, i dont think i want to. but hey, for those folks who want to follow strangers onesided conversations, you go for it!

Alex has decided he wants to take us to a baseball game. so him n john looked at all the giants home games while he is here. they decided on a padres game on the 22nd. he got front row tickets right behind the dugout. we will be able to reach out and touch those players. how cool is that. hopefully the game will be on tv and so we can record it and see if we will be on tv. we havnet been to a game for so long, im really looking forward to it.

ok, im getting kinda tired, so I better sign off. if i can remember what it was that i really wanted to talk about, ill pop back in and do this again. i just hope i dont make the mistake of thinking of something else for a minute again. so, see ya all later.

Friday to sunday and this is what I did

I woke up this morning and refused to let myself look at the clock. it was still dark, so it was still time to sleep. i kinda had to go to the bathroom, but i could wait, and it would allow me to look at the clock, which would tell me i woke up at too early o clock again. I did that yesterday and couldnt get back to sleep, so last night at 930, i went off to bed and my eyes actually made a crashing noise as my head hit the pillow. so as i decided to force my eyes closed, and ignore my bladder for a while, i heard my sons alarm on his phone go off. crap. it would stop. alex was sleeping right through it. hung over again. so I got up to turn it off. and when i did, i saw the clock and it said 659.  I SLEPT TILL 700 AM! WOO HOO, I SLEPT ALL NIGHT. no wonder i felt so wide awake. so here I am.

Alex pulled up friday afternoon around 5. . it was so good to see him. he was tired after driving all day. John was really waiting for him, so excited. it was funny, we were standing in the kitchen and the door to the garage was open. the garage was also open so I could see out to the street. john was standing over by the fridge so he didnt see as the black car drove by, turned around and parked out front. I walked out to the garage as john was saying something. alex parked his car and I went out for the first hug. i didnt tell john. lol. shortly after he got here, it was like he never left. we talk a lot, and I just want to see his face.

so yesterday we tried to find a place for all his crap he brought home. i had to rearrange the closet that is now holding his high school crap, so it would also hold his college crap. i am running out of space to hold his stuff. I cant wait for him to get his own real place to hold his own stuff. anyway, we got most of that task done finally. then he tried to hook up his x box to the puter monitor but there was no sound. instead of buying just a cable that would fix the issue, he bought a new tv. its a small version of mine, and has a really great picture. and yes, we will get to store this also when he goes off to the air force. it just continues. we are gonna have to store his car for a while while he is in boot camp too. his toys are getting too big.

i am so happy to have him home. its like he never left kinda. i am taking some time off, not a lot cus i have to save my vacation time for his graduation from basic training.

ok, thats what i have for now. the wind has dies down for this morning, so hopefully we wont be sneezing and miserable all day again. it was really bad. hope your having a good weekend. see ya all later.

Checkin in

last week was hell week at work. I donut know who did the planning, but they didn't put any thought into it. only that they had stuff to do ands it was gonna get dome no matter what. so here is what happened. we had about 3 or 4 people off the floor, which means they didn't work their regular job, all week from each department. add to that, 2nd shift is short people right now anyway. on saturday was our rewards and recognition dinner and i think people were off the floor doing last minute stuff for that. soo all this together meant overtime for the rest of us. it started wednesday night when a bunch of us went in early. early or over is 4 hours, so I was in at 8. I did get to go home at around 330, and went straight to bed. the next day, I had to work over, 4 hours, that was friday morning. then I was crewed in on friday night and had to work till 12 again. so add it up, two 12's in a row. I was exhausted. I only got to sleep a few hours before I had to get up and go to the dinner. since i put a deposit down of 40.00, i wanted it back so i went. i would have forfeited it had I not gone. I was so tired.

the next day, my sister and my niece that just graduated from the police academy came by and visited for a while. before they got here, i had to do some rearranging to the spare room so alex will have a dresser to use when he gets here. that too me all day almost. it seems i have been busy doing something all the time lately. not anything major, just small stuff that takes up a lot of time.

Ive been going to curves three times a week, except when i worked over time, and walking twice a week. I haven't stepped on the scale this week, I'm trying to stay off it. I have noticed a change in the way my work pants fit. I can pull on them and have extra room in the legs and the front. the waist is loose also, so I am happy with that. i am waiting for the day i have to find a belt to wear. i haven't had to wear a belt in i donut know how long. i am taking it slow, and not gonna expect too much too soon. its gonna come off slower than it got here, but i am still gonna try to get it gone. I'm tired of that other person following me around.

Alex is leaving Ok today and starting on his way home. he has to go close part of his bank and then he can leave. he is only bringing home what will fit in his car. i asked him to bring me a gallon of the zero degree window fluid. they cant sell it here cus it california and everything outside of breathing is illegal here. i think if they could get us all out of our cars, it would happen. anyway, he will be on his way home today. he is gonna make it to amarillo tonight and stop at the big texan for dinner. he is gonna take his time and stop and take pictures when he wants to. it will probably take forever to get through New Mexico. it is so pretty there, he will want to take a shot at everything. then there is a burger place in arizona called the heart attack grill he wants to stop at. he should be home by this weekend. its gonna be a long week.

well, i better hop on over to facebook and see whats going on over there. i need to get a border on a quilt, then go workout and head off to bed. I got tot come home early today, that's why i am awake enough to write this. so, see ya all later.
