Frito Lay Bake sale

Last night John and I went to a dinner put on by the VFW to honor some lome local students, firemen, policemen and em t's and VFW members. it was very nice. the students won awards and checks for writing about what freedom meant to them and what patriotism was to them. it brought tears to my eyes. the boy scouts served the food and cleared the tables. We all passed the basket and filled it with cash to give to the scouts. They made out pretty good. When they first walked in, I was sitting at one of the tables, and I recognised one of the boys. It was the son of my best friend at work.  have watched this kid grow us since he was about three or four. Now he was serving and helping in the community. How cool is that!

Anyway, I was talking to John and told him i had to bake today to make the cookies for the bake sale on Wednesday. One of his friends asked what kind of cookies and how much would I charge for them. He told me he loved oatmeal cookies, and would pay for them. He is a single guy, so he doesn't get goodies like this. I told him 25.00 for a gallon size bag, about 40 cookies, the cash would go to the bake sale for cancer research. He forked over 25.00 cash ands asked when he could get his cookies. I told him tomorrow they will be ready and John will call you when they are ready. So john is going to deliver them to him today when the go do something else with the VFW.

So this morning I got up, made the cookies and had to go get more supplies. I used all the chocolate chips, and was just about out of brown sugar. Cant make cookies without these items. So I head off to the store, pick up items and go to the checkout counter. I paid for y items, and the cashier says have fun making those chocolate chip cookies. I then told her what I was doing and that frito lay matched the 1100.00 we made last year. Then she told me she would pay 25.00 for a batch of cookies. Surprised, I said really? She said yes, and I told her I would be back later with her cookies. Needless to say, I am freaking tired. I made three batches of oatmeal and a huge batch of chocolate chip. But I have raised 50.00 already! woo hoo!

Yesterday I started a new quilt. Its called English Ivy. Its burgundy and pink and I really hope it turns out as pretty as it is in the book. I'm sure it will, as long as I read the instructions the right way. I think I will give it to Johns niece.she is graduating in a few months, and I think this may be a nice gift.

Anyway, that's all I have. Its been rough week, I had to work OT one day and I just couldn't sleep well this week. that screws me up and its hard to get caught up. So see ya all later and have a great week.

Updates and other stuff

Its Monday morning, and still cold. Looks like the booty dance Amber's little squirrel did for us last week sure did the trick. As i write this, at 8:30 am, I see on the news that its all of 43 degrees. And hey, guess what? Its only supposed to be in the low 60's today and it may rain tomorrow. Hurray for the booty dance, now grab your coats or cuddle up under a warm blanket and get warm.

This past week end could be seen as uneventful or blissfully relaxing. Nothing really happened that was that exciting. Friday night we went out to dinner at El Rosels around the corner. After we were watching this thing on the We network. t was called women in prison. John said he watched all the time. I had never heard of it. Anyway, we started talking and he was wondering, if your parents are wealthy, and you kill them, do you still get the money from the will? He says you cant profit from murder, so no you wouldn't. He cited the Peterson case where Lacie's mom got all the money. I say you would still get the money cus that is the will, and you cant go against it. you are not really profiting from a murder unless you write a book  o some kind of screen play or give interviews. These are both good points in my opinion, but I don't know what the answer is.

Saturday we went to finally  buy two ceiling fans for the computer room and my sewing room. We went to Osh, since they were paying the tax an everything we bought. We had to go to two stores to get two of the same fans that we wanted. We are so happy we did. At the newer store way across town, we walked in and it was so huge. We picked up the fan and started exploring the whole place. I felt like we were in one of those commercials where the people are so happy to be in that store. Well, we got to the end of an aisle, looked left and saw a huge appliance showroom. We didn't know it was there. the sales men were so nice, even though we weren't buying anything. We will go there in the future, rather than the mall or Sears.

Yesterday we sat around most of the day. I did get out and bought me some of that 5htp. I bought it at WalMart, 45 in the bottle for 7 something. I thought that was a little pricey, but for the first purchase just to see how it goes, that is ok. I thought about going down to Target and see if we had the same closeout sale Em mentioned, but it was further down the road in a busier part of town, and I didn't feel like it. I hope it makes me feel a little better, at least a little more energy or let me sleep better. Sleep is always my issue.

So today i go one more time to get the stitches out of my mouth. It is still a little tender in spots inside my mouth, but the swelling is pretty much gone and only a small bruise is still on my face. I sure hope all this is worth it next year when i have to go in one more time for  the final procedure. I'm sure it will be.

Ok, that is it for now. Oh, the toy page is finally up and running. I took it off my list cus it didn't work, but I got a text message that the page was up and running now. go check it out if you have a chance. See ya all later. and try to not work too hard, unless of course you get paid more for working harder. If that is the case, then bust your ass baby!

A glass of wine, some chocolate and you

This may seem sorta strange to some. If you were here right now with me anyway. I am sitting here in bed with my lappy in my lap, a small glass of port and some chocolates, now gone. Its not yet 11:00 am and I am drinking. John told me when he has a glass of wine before bed, he sleeps like a log. I don't want a whole big glass, but I do want to take a nice little nappy. As most of you know, I don't usually drink red, but I have been being a little more adventurous.

Next topic. has anyone heard from Katie? I have been to her page here and on 360, but I don't see any signs of her still being around. I just would like to know she is ok.

Next. I'm not paranoid, really I'm not. I do wonder a lot of stuff though, and one of the things I wonder about is this. Do we really know who is reading our pages. I know, there is a trail that is left when someone stops in. We can sometimes see the face, sometimes not. Like my own, is a boat with Lisa Marie on it. Bash has multiple images and Em has that southpark Character. If we didn't know these people, how would we know who was really reading us. I wonder this because sometimes I want to vent about people I work with, or something or someone that is local, but I dare not. i am sure that just as soon as I do, someone i work with is gonna call me on it. I have thought about doing a private blog just to get it off my chest, but then I couldn't get the feedback I need to go with it. so it stays in my brain till i get comfy with this thought process.

Next. another wonder. I have a tendency to bring the same thing for lunch every day. I like to bring my lunch, cus then i can eat what makes me feel good. Lately it is a really great salad, low fat yogurt, banana, and diet green tea from lipton. I love that stuff. It used to be cottage cheese and the rest of the stuff. The mani thing will change, but I always have the yogurt, fruit and tea. Now, here is my wonder, do you bring a lunch and does it change every day. Do you vary what you bring. Do you just throw last night leftovers in a plastic bag n go. I have a lunch bag from Frito lay which is just like many others in the fridge at work. funny, no one ever steals my lunch.

Ok, I think that is it for today. The swelling is kinda going down in my face. Hope it is gone soon. Have a great weekend.

The ads on the side

I keep seeing people make funny comments about the ads that pop up on the sides of our blog posts. Some of them are funny because of what we write about. I imagine the ads appear there depending on key words that are picked up from the post. I wonder what would happen if we put in a random word, like maybe, baseball, football or spinal cord, what kind of ads will appear. I think we should try to make the funniest or strangest ads appear by adding random words to the post. scrotum. Look, there's one. Lets see if that word triggers something. The ads on the side of this post will probably be all about words. How do I make sure they aren't about words.

I told you that feeling sorry for myself foolishness would be gone. I took a nap last night before I went to work. When i woke up, the left side of my face was so swollen and my left mouth sagged. I had to work like that last night till 5:30 this morning. I was so self conscious. so I called the dental office this morning and asked about this. I was told it should be getting back to normal by this weekend. Just keep taking Ibuprofen and using Ice if I wanted to. I told her I didn't get the pain meds filled cus the pharmacy was out. They would have them the next day, but I said I would just take Ibuprofen. She was a little upset cus they would have helped with the swelling. I wish i had known this. I would have made a different decision on getting them. But she said 600mg Ibuprofen should be fine.

There was something else I wanted to talk about, but I forget what it was. I call this old timers setting in. Not that I'm old, cus you know I'm not. I will remember when i get this thing posted and shut down. I'm gonna go get ready for bed now. I need to sleep again. Did I tell you I fell asleep Tuesday around four and woke up at 615 wednesday morning. I wish i could sleep like that more. Ok, really, this is it. See ya later.

I feel like crap

yesterday i went in to have my bridge removed from my mouth. I had extensive work done for an hour and a half. I came home, went to bed and slept till 6:30 this morning. My mouth feels like crap and pretty much tastes that way also. So, for the next week I will be eating soft food. Hopefully I can loose a few lbs. I have to find a positive here.

I slept through Dancing witht the stars. I did watch it this morning and Pricilla is now gone. I thoguht for sure it would be Marley, after her missed step. it gets harder and harder to choose who was the worst. We all have our favorites, and we wantot keep them. I have  a hard time getting past my fav, and seeing who needs to go. Marissa id giving it her all. I can Identify with her. If I ever got to dance, I would look like her with her short little round legs. All the other ladies have long legs and can kick n split like its easy.

it looks like its still gonna be windy here today. Thats ok, I have no intentions of leaving the house. If I cna get myself to eat something, I may just go back to bed. this is a really strange feeling. I dont get sick to often. I can usually just get up and get going. today I think I will just stay in bed. Anybody got a curefor feeling like crap after a dentist appointment. This is me feeling sorry for myself for a minute. I will stop this foolishness in the next post.

Amber did the dance

Yep, Amber was so upset yesterday cus we had these two days of sun. So she tells me she is gonna pray to the weather gods for bad weather to hit us, cus she is having that crappy British wet weather. I told her the rain gods would only respond to the booty dance, and sent her a video on how to accomplish this. Oh yes, I was laughing hysterically. She sent me back a video of her little tushy doing the dance to appease the proper gods.

Well, thank you very much Mrs Amber Bateman! I wake up today and big John is sneezing his head off, there are gail force winds blowing outside, and I fear the neighbors eucalyptus tree is gonna fall on our house. I thought I was gonna get to put my coat away for the year, but now I don't know. John said it reached 92 out on our front porch yesterday, but I think the clouds just blew in. If there was some way I could have taken pics of the wind, would have, but I didn't want to open the door and let in the pollen. Poor poor John.

I just had to let you know the dance worked. we are back to having bad weather. But it is the weekday. Just as long as we  get the weekend weather, I will be happy.

A beautiful day

about 730 am

Picture perfect weather

I took a couple pics of my backyard this morning to try and show you how beautiful it is here today. they didn't come out as pretty as the day is, but I will put them in my picture file and let you be the judge. Last night when we got home, I will tell you about that also, we sat out in the back yard for a while. We only came in cus the bugs were finding me fun to land on.

Its supposed to be in the upper 80's today. Oh, yes. Perfect for the weekend. Yesterday we saw a temp that said 86. This is just the way weekends are supposed to be.

Yesterday we packed the cooler with some snacks, and headed to the hills to replenish our supply. We decided to stop at this little biker bar and have a drink on the way up, just to kill some time. This place is so colorful, all kinds of really strange things on the walls, fun stuff to look at. John hada beer, I had a margarita. I think I am gonna give them up for a while. I keep getting heartburn when i drink them.

So after only one drink, we took off again. I keep bringing my camera, but I think I have shot everything already, so no shots of our day trip. We got to our destination, and the winemaker wasn't there yet. I always email him and let him know we need to come up. He tells us what time he will be there and it works out. Well, he got doing something at home, lost track of time, and he was late. Se we went on up the road about 45 minutes and bought my favorite wine. It was a one shop stop in Murphy's to get Sangiovesi Rosato from Zucca Winery. You cant buy this anywhere else, so it is worth it to go up there. I could have them send me some, but the drive is nice.

So we tasted the wines in the shop, and all were very tasty. Every time we do this I so wish Em was with us. She would be in wine heaven. Murphy's is a great place to go tasting. There are wineries all over the place, and they all are so different. You can park you car, walk up one side of the street, and down the other, and taste from 20 something different wineries. And best of all, the tasting is FREE. With cute little shops in between, you can be entertained all day.

We took off from there and headed back to the intended destination. This time he was there. We chat for a while with him every time we go there, and it is really a nice day. We bought a case of Champagne, two bottles of port, and two bottles of Zin. All very good. He had an appointment, and we wanted to go out to dinner, so we finally got out of there at 5 pm. It was such a beautiful day. We must have passed at least 200 motorcycle's on the road. I would have loved to have one, or maybe just a convertible. That is gonna be my next car, a convertible cruiser. yep.

Ok, I have rambled on for long enough. Look n see if I got the pics of the day posted in my photo album. I may go out and try to get a better shot. have a good week.

What cha doin this weekend??????

We really don't have anything planned this weekend. We were supposed to go get more champagne, but I don't know, I really just want to stay home and do nothing. We have enough champagne for this week and next, so maybe I can get John to agree to next.

I have a dentist appointment on Tuesday. Its gonna be a big appointment, one of those ones you would rather cancel. I have to get a bridge replaced, so I also have to have a tooth pulled. Eventually there will be an implant there, but getting to the implant is the painful part. I bought extra insurance this year to cover this procedure. I cant wait for it to be done.

I am doing the Race for the cure walk again this year. I got all registered the other day, and this time I was able to import my address book. I am walking again with my friend Rosa in the 1 and 2 o'clock hours. last year she had me stopping at the stands and looking as we walked. this year I'm gonna do my looking before, and just walk for my two hours. last year it was pretty warm and I got kinda burned on my legs and arms. I had the dorkiest marks on my legs. I was wearing Capri's, so only the bottom part of my calves were burned. I'm sure I will look the same this year too. Maybe I will remember to put on sunscreen this year.

OK, , that's all I have. Nothings going on, and nothing much to say. Hope you all have a great weekend.

The American Cancer Society:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeCaliforniaDivision?px=4239726&pg=personal&fr_id=4684&et=zihcF29PxKb-U1q4B0uagA..&s_tafId=93559
I will be walking for 2 hours on June 21 to support Relay for Life. All proceeds that pass from one hand to another while inside the gates of the relay on those two days, goes to the cancer society. This is my second year walking in the Relay. I am very proud to do this. My sister was diagnosed with colan cancer two years ago, and thankfully she is a survivor. We all know someone that is touched in some way by cancer. I am just doing what I can to help in the cause. If you would like to support me and make a donation, click the link and it should take you to my donation page. Thank you very much.

Pleasure Party, the Results

OK, so 12 people committed to show up. so I get ready for 12, but only 5 did. that's ok, we still had fun. First, the massage therapist showed up at 330. She carried in her chair, set it up in the back yard, and had me try it out first. I so needed that. Did I forget to say I hired a massage therapist? Well, I did, and it was good. while she was healing the knots in our backs and arms, we were sitting around drinking, and snacking on a meat n cheese tray I made and also a fruit tray. We had Mojitos and Margarita's to drink, and lots of them. I didn't care for the Mojitos, it was a premix and was too sweet for me.

Then Shannon and Ann showed up around 430 and started setting up. We all sat outside while they did this, the weather cooperated on Saturday. Pretty soon they came outside and said we are gonna play some games. She asked us to pass around this pink velvet bag with something on the inside, touch it, feel it, figure out what it was. When I had it, it started vibrating. OHHH Yeah. Didn't know what it was though, so I passed it on. One of my friends knew what it was, so she got a free one. We played two more games, I didn't win, then we went inside for the demonstration and explanation of goodies. Shannon also brought the most fabulous chocolate sauce you have ever had on your taste buds. OMG, it is drinkable. Its called Fusion and made with wine. Just think Em, Chocolate WINE!

You wouldn't believe how many things they had! Many, Many different kinds of lovely little, and large vibrating devices. Lubes, lotions and powders. Inserters, and some that never get inserted but still make you happy to have them. Don't think for a second I am gonna tell you everything I bought. I will tell you I bought a feather thingy. hehehhehehehehe. I did have to go get me a toy box though, to keep my new found toys in. And yes, it is close to where I need it.

The ladies never made us feel embarrassed, during the presentation of the goodies. We got to pass some of them around and touch and feel them, turn them on, figure if they could turn us on, and ask questions. It really was a lot of fun.

I made marsh mellows, and bought a cookie cutter shaped like a penis. I also bought an ice cube tray shaped like a penis. I made a set of marsh mellows in the ice cube tray, then cut the rest with the cookie cutter. I wrapped the marsh mellows in cellophane bags and handed them out to my guests. I also found wine charms shaped like penis's and attached them to the glasses. Everyone got to keep their charms also, it was just a memento. how fun.

I told her to get her website up and running cus all my friends are women and they will all buy this lovely stuff. I know I still need to add to my new collection. Oh yeah. You just cant buy it all at once. I'm am writing this late in the afternoon, and feeling very tired. I know this isn't a really good version of the story, but when I am awake more, I will fill in the blanks. In the meantime, I have to head off to bed. And if your wondering I have tried out any of the new toys. ..........YES YES YES. i AM A VERY HAPPY TIRED PERSON. keep an eye on the website for it to open.

A friday blog

Saturday is my pleasure party. I am so excited about this. I know, this is how I started the last post, but this time the day is finally here. today, I have to go shopping, go to the bank, get glasses out and start setting things up. It seems like I am making a big deal about this, but you have to understand, I don't do stuff like this. I don't have parties. I don't have large groups of people over. I spaz over stuff like this. I have been thinking about this for  so long, but this time I think it will turn out fun.

After I go to the bank, and do all my running around, i am going to make marshmallow's. I bought a penis shaped cookie cutter and i am going to cut out little penis's to dip in chocolate. Ohhh yummy. I will have to look for mint for the Mojito's, and I may even see if there are penis shaped ice cube trays to make ice to float in the drinks. I may be going a little over the top, but I am trying to set the mood. The website is not up and running yet, so I will have to remind my friend to get on it. I would hate for her to loose sales to a site that isn't up.

i got to come home from work last night. I never had to work at all. I was hoping they would call me at home and tell me I could stay home, but that didn't happen. I drive to work with another lady, and she got to go home also. We decided to go have breakfast on the way home, and talked till 130. It was nice, but I couldn't get to sleep again. Have any of you ever tried melatonin to help you sleep? I just bought some and I love it. I get to sleep, and wake up rested. Not like when you take sleeping pills and wake up tired.

Ok, I think that is all. I really do need ot get going and get my day started. Hope you all have a great weekend. See ya all later.
