I faught Back!

I think for the most part, most of us just do what we are told. If we are told to pay a bill we do it. We figure it is correct and owed, so we whip out the check book or atm card and part with our hard earned cash.

At the end of every year, those of us fortunate enough to have insurance through work, have to make the decision to choose or stay the same with how we are covered. this past year, I was told I needed to replace the bridge in my mouth that had been there for about twenty years. Well, my dental now covered 50% of implants, so I chose to purchase the enhanced plan. I looked up the preferred provider to get the best prices and made and appointment.

The first appointment went pretty well, it was a female dentist and I sorta liked that. They did leave me sitting in the office for most of the two hours I was there, but I figured it was a fluke and wouldn't happen again. I made the next appointment for a cleaning, cus no matter what, they always say your teeth need to be cleaned. So at the next appointment, I was told I had to pay 100.00, cus the insurance didn't cover part of the procedure. I questioned this, but figured It would be corrected by the next appointment when they had more time to fully get to realise they were a preferred provider, and I was covered.

The next appointment I went in there knowing I wasn't going to pay the extra again. Again, I was told I owed, but this time it was 165.00. I told them I wasnt going to pay it, just don't do that part. they told me they couldn't do that, there was a long conversation and in the end, I walked out, not paying, cus they did nothing. When I got home, i called the insurance company and told them what I just experienced. I felt like I was being cheated and ripped off.

I am leaving out a whole lot of this, cus that would have been a Trishy novel. In the end, I am going back to my old dentist, filing a complaint with the insurance company, and I am going to report them to the ADA maybe. They gave me an estimate before insurance of almost $12000.00  Each implant was 4000.00, when the insurance dictates they charge 1465.00. yes folks, i was pissed.

This is the first time I have questioned what I am asked to pay. I am tired of being taken advantage of. I am so proud of myself, and I recommend if you are told you have to pay every time you go to the dentist, find out what you are really covered for.

Ok, that is it for now. Hope you have a great weekend.

Im a one Gallon donner

I started donating blood maybe early last year or a earlier. It made feel good to do something like that, that I could help someone and never know who the person may be. I could help save a life, in a half hour and never know when it would happen. So I got my 56 day call to come in and donate. They always are low, or so they say. I know they are, but i had been drinking my champagne, it Sunday anyway. That was ok, you can drink before you donate. So i put on my shoes and headed out the door.

When I got there, I had to wait in line at the receptionist desk for  a  few folks in front of me. I get up there, hand over my picture ID and keyring that hold the scanning card for points they give us for donating. We can choose from all kinds of really great things, including a two night, three day stay in a hotel. Pretty good huh? When the lady scans my little card, She told me I was a 1 Gallon donor. I was so excited. I really thought I would stop before I got to 1 gallon. I am so proud of this. And, I cant stand needles, but I just don't look. I keep my head turned the other way the whole time.

I don't have a whole lot more to go on about, OH WAIT, WAIT, COME BACK FOR A MINUTE! I REMEMBERED.  I got my ring. I just love it. It is white gold, no stones, but very pretty cuts to make it sparkle and shine like it has diamonds all around it. I don't know if I could take a pic of it and have it show up as pretty as it is. What really matters is that I love it and it feels right on my hand. I was flashing it around work like a huge diamond. We cant wear stones at work though, and i wanted a band to wear. I am happy.

Ok, that is it for now. see ya all later. don't work too hard this week, share the load and let someone help you carry it.

My birthday

Yesterday was my fiftieth birthday. I was really excited about it, I had cake at work, a really good time and I was so very happy. When I got home from work, I took a short nap, then my son woke me up with a Happy birthday wish at 11. I was happy to wake up and hear that.

John came home for lunch as usual and we had a nice chat. he tole me to go pick up my ring, but be sure to be home when he gets home, around 330 or 4. I didn't think much of this, figuring he wanted to take me out to dinner. so i called about my ring and it wasn't in yet, so I stayed in my jammies. I was also told to be here when a currier arrived to deliver my Birthday gift from Amber. I was so excited about this I could hardly wait.

Then my doorbell rang, and I ran, yes ran folks to the front door. By the time I got there, the gift was leaning against the door and the UPS guy was jumping into his truck. I yelled Thanks at his back and snatched that box up so fast. I ripped open, as much as you can rip open a cardboard sealed box. Inside were the most beautiful long stem multicolored roses. This was from My best UCB Amber. There was a card that got me all teary eyed. I was able to log on and leave a voice message on AMBERS blog and let her know I got them.

Then John came home, we had a few beers, and he admired the roses. We took pictures of them, and sat outside and talked and watched the birds. Then the doorbell rang and John told me someone was there for me. that is when I saw the guy standing there with this amazing tropical flower arrangement. I have always wanted one like this, and on my fiftieth i got one. he gave me that card, and when i opened it up, I almost wet my pants laughing. It is so freaking funny. He knows I think the Airplane  movies are hysterical.

When I finished laughing, we went out to dinner at the most amazing little Italian place. I think it is our newest favorite place. If any of you ever get out this way, we will take you there. I will go into the dinner thing in another blog. This one is getting kinda long. I just had the best day, and best of all, you were all a part of it.

we had a fabulous time!

yes, once again, we had a great time. We got there on friday about noon, checked in, relaxed for a bit and then went for a walk.  I posted pics from this trip, but it loaded everything from photobucket. It loaded 286 pics and i don't know how to delete the rest of them. Only the first 50 are from our trip. go look at them if you want.

Our room was perfect. It had  a king sized bed and a fireplace. No animal fur rug, we will   have to remember that next time. lol. John remembered just about everything else though. I think he even asked for great weather, at least for Friday. On our walk, I had my camera with me and I snapped just about everything that moved or looked interesting. I have found this works for me. We went and had a drink at one restaurant, then stopped at another one and found we had to make reservations for dinner. That was ok, we still had to walk back up the hill to our room. We really didn't want to do that on a full stomach.

On Saturday morning we went out to one of the points and watched boats going out to sea, as it was the first day a salmon season. I hate salmon, but it is big out here. I think I loaded a few pics of a couple boats on their way out. It was cold at that point. the sun decided to stay hidden on Saturday. I did get a bunch of great shots though. We did another walk along a path on the coast, then headed to town to try nd take a tour through local brewery. the tours didn't start till noon, and it was only eleven. We bought a beer glass ad shot glass and went back to our room, where we drank our champagne and watched boats roll in and out of the harbor.

On the way back, we also took a ride along the other side of the river. We never knew there was anything even over there. there was boat graveyard, another harbor, boats of all sizes and I think a blue heron sitting on one of the docks just sitting a staring onto the water. He was huge, and reminded me a mean old man.

Ok, we left on sunday after a really relaxing stay. Our room was great. the food was fantastic at all the restraints we ate at, the weather even cooperated to a point. I could go into detail more about all this stuff, but that would make for a really long blog, and I don't think that many people really want to read all that.

If you know how to delete pics out of the albums, can someone please tell me. i know I can just not show them all, but I want to take most out of the Ft bragg album.

We are leaving town

I love it when i get to say this. doesn't everyone? We are taking a mini vacation again this weekend. its supposed to be for my birthday, but John thinks he can wrap Valentines Day in there also. I don't think so. That wasnt part of the deal. Maybe I am being selfish, but I always remember him. he likes to wrap my birthday in with V day cus they are a week away. Nope, i want both. heehehehehhehe

Anyway, i will be bringing my lappy with us. I don't know if there is internet access at the hotel. I know we are going to have a great time. I don't work tomorrow night, so this is my last night. I am going to try and get off early tonight. I just want to start my weekend. but for now, I have to be in at ten, and its nine right now. I just watched the last of AI before we get to start voting. I have to go get ready for work.

See ya all later and have a great weekend.

A new Rooster in Town

a href="http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z56/lisa11mc/?action=view¤t=ROOSTERNQUILT041.jpg" target="_blank">Diablo Rooster

We have a rooster in our neighborhood. he appeared one day. I heard there was also a hen, but she died. I never saw her, but one of the neighbors said he used to see her. She was found dead and disposed of in a trash can from what I hear. this rooster goes up and down the street, from house to house. He eats the ants, and keeps some of the critters down to a minimal. Today I finally was able to get a picture of him. Then I tried my video camera on him. I posted it on the video part of my page, that is the first time I have put a video on the page. I kept doing it wrong, trying to put in the wrong code. I finally got the right code. Anyway, I think he is kind of pretty. We have some new kids on the block, and I think they may just try to hurt him, so I will have to let them know to leave him alone. I can hear them out there now chasing him around. I better finish this up and go check on him.

Little of this, little of that

A week has passed since I wrote anything on here. Lets see, hmmmm, what has happened to me. Well, I sort of accidentally, really, saw on my nieces My space page that my son and his girlfriend broke up. This would not normally be a big deal, except they have been together for five years. I haven't really talked to him about this yet, but I will. Not being too nosey, but I am also invested in this relationship, so i think I deserve a small explanation of what happened. I have a feeling I know what it was, but I will try not to have any preconceived notions that I let get in the way of understanding.

Onward. What else has happened. We had a baby shower for one of the supervisors at work. His wife is due to have her baby on the 10th. It was a total surprise and about sixty people people came. We each put in five dollars and had Mexican food catered in. At 11:00 at night the only selection we have is Mex or Pizza. We get tired of Pizza real quick. Anyway, back to the party. He got so many gifts, and had no idea what he was supposed to do as the recipient of the party. It was so cute. It took him 45 minute's to open all his gifts. I took pics of the event, 110 of them. Those were sent to Costco and will become a part of his prezzies. It was fun.

We have started making a new packaging thing. its called a six pack. Some of you may have seen it. there are six small bags in an envelope type plastic bag. It sells for 2.29. Well, we are now making these. I guess its been around for a while, but we just got it and have it up and running. I am one of the people that is putting these bags through he system. We have to slightly bend over all night, and at the end of the night, my back is wanting to break. We are just doing something different and our bodies are fighting back. Crap it hurts, I finally remembered to put more Ibuprofen in my lunch bag for work.

I was just watching tv for a minute and it reminded me of a question i have been wondering about for a long time. For those of you who live on the east  coast, maybe you can answer this question. When you stand  out on the street, wave your arm in the air and yell taxi, how do they hear you. I know they cant hear you yell taxi, so do you really yell taxi, or is that put in there for tv effects. Can you really step out onto the street and wave your arm out like that and have a taxi stop? I have been quietly wondering this for a while.

Ok, that is it for a while. I have no current plans for the weekend. What about you?

WHAT!!!?????

ACK! John just told me he heard that google and at & t were thinking of merging. Ok, so is Microsoft and yahoo, sort of. Microsoft is buying yahoo. But he also said they are trying to think of a way to charge us for internet use like the phone is charged. by the minute. Don't we pay enough for our internet use? why is it that everybody that already has too much money wants to separate us from our money. I haven't heard this. I don't know when this is supposed to happen, or if it even is. If anyone has heard this, please let me know.

So I am off to bed now. I had to work late today, and its like the middle of the night for me. I will be delirious pretty soon. Night night

Hello Wines

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
This is a small winery in Valley Springs, California. We have been drinking this wine for about four years now. The winery is owned and operated by John Caracciolo. He makes mostly reds, but also has a white or two and also Raspberry and Almond Champagne. He does ship, if you would like to try his wines. www.hellowines.com. And we tasted his version of Port yesterday, and had to have a bottle, at only $10.00.

Friday Chatter

The weekend is here, once more. its strange, this happens over and over. At least we know we can depend on that happening, every five days, we will get a weekend. Even if you week starts on Wednesday, you will still get a weekend. This one is here and this year is moving on. We are in February, and before ya know it, we will be talking about how hot this summer got. Right now I am looking for ward to it, I am getting a little tired of the cold and rain out here in sunny California.

I have to work tonight. I don't have to work too many weekends, so I really shouldn't complain. We have plans for tomorrow though, and this puts a damper on that. We will still go ahead with our plans. I hate to give up a day of fun due to work.

Now, speaking of fun. I was talking to one of my friends the other day. We don't get a chance to sit and chat too often, due to schedules and she has a very busy schedule. Well, she told me her and one of her friends decided to go into business together. Ohhh, exciting. then she asked if I had ever heard of pleasure parties. OH YES! That is what they are going to do. They already had four parties booked, and the business wasn't even ready to go yet. I am going to book one. If you don't know what a pleasure party is, it is a party for women to privately purchase personal adult toys in a private setting. You feel much safer and don't have  to go to the local adult store where you don't know who was fondling what. ewwwwww. I know you can also make your purchases online, but you get to see these and also see how they work. I'm sure she will be very successful. I am going to ask her to put up a web page. If she does, I will have a link to it on my page. fun fun fun

Well, that is it for now. I woke up too early today and I will be snaggin a small nappy before I have to go in again. Have a great weekend.
