Theres not a whole lot going on, so I am going to talk about some things that bother me, scare me, and/or irritate me. Can we have her as our Prez?

I just heard, while listening to my favorite national news channel, that Hillary could actually win this election. She is in the lead as far as the Dems are concerned. This scares me. this scares the crap out of me. I could not for one second imagine her as our fearless leader. I have never even met, in person or on line one person who admits to supporting her. I would be scared to see what she would do with our country. Its not that I dont think a female can be president, its not that at all. Its just her. Ok, thats all on what scares me. aside from spiders and snakes.

Now, things that irritate me. Commercials. OMG. I remember when I was a kid, you waited to go to the batheroom for a commercial and hoped you got back in time. You would actually run to do what ever it was that you had to do to get back in time so you didnt miss one moment of whatever you were watching. NOW, you can clean the kitchen and fix dinner in a commercial break. Well, maybe not the dinner thing. But ther are at least 10 commercials during a popular show. One day i am going to get my pen and paper, or maybe I will open my lappy and record as I watch tv. I know that when i watch a 1 hour program I have recorded, the show is 20 minutes shorter than the one hour. Its a good thing we dont have to pay for the individual programs we watch, aside from the cable. I would really be screaming about the commercials then.

Now, for the things that bother me. Lazy people. This bothers me so much. Everyone has days they just dont feel like it, but some people have these every day. I work with people that wont do anything extra, not one thing, no matter how easy it is. they can sit and watch otehr people bust for eight hours, and not even try. I had to go in early on sunday, which I usually do. But this time second shift was there and they could have done part of the setup. But they dont even try to do anything. To me, this is just lazy. If you see something that needs to be done, and you dont do it cus you werent told to, that is just lazy. Yes folks, lazy bothers me, just a little.

This is just a fuuny thing that happened to me yesterday. I keep getting this guy sending me IM's to talk, then he gets all sex talk. At that point, I hit Ignore and think he will be gone. This usually works for most people, but for some reason, he keeps getting through. I dont know why. Now its just sorta funny to me, and I see how many responses it takes for him to say something rude. It never takes him very long, so the conversations are short. This used to really upset me till "The Devine one" told me what to say to put him in his place. I copied the conversation from yesterday and posted it here. For some reason, the initial greeting from him isnt here. I tried twice to get it, but it wouldnt show up. I just got a laugh from this and wanted to share it with you. I hope this perv doesnt think Im invading his privacy or something by posting this. If he does, oh well.

OOps, didnt relise I havent written for a while

I got a comment from Em reminding me its been a week since I posted anything here. Also Carol told me to step up my game here, especially since I reminded her to update here page. So, here I am to fill in a weeks worth of gaps. I will try not to let this happen again, at least not this long.

So when I left you, I was going out to dinner with my friends. We had a good time, went to Olive garden. Right now I cant remember what I had, but it was good. WE came back to my house ans chated for a while, then they left cus thye both had to work on saturday. I went to bed. I sewed the rest of the weekend, but still didnt finishe the palcemats I had started. It takes forever to put on the bindings on the edge. That probable takes longer than the whole other part, or just as long. I have to be so careful to try and keep the stitching the same all the way around, and on every one. I am now convinced that 60.00 is the right price for a set of six. I did get the hawaiin print ones done and I really like them. I have to take pics of them, then i will post them.

I hope to get my house clean today and finish what I have started. So, why havent I posted this week? Honestly, I dont know why. I would get on hre, read a few blogs, think about writing, but had nothing to say and no desire to try and think something up. There is nothing wrong with me, just a bored brain I guess. I have been pre-occupied with sewing though. I know I can do both, but sometimes my brain just wont let me. I will try to get back into my normal routine.

So that is what is going on with me. Nothing great, sewing and working and bored with myself. So, for now, I will go but I will return soon. have a great wekend.

Friday Fodder

It looks like today was a good day for me. I got the house clean early and got into the sewing room. I started cutting all the fabric and filling(I dont know what it is really called, I will have to remember next time I buy it.) I got all of it cut, layed out in stackes, then layered it how it needs to be sewn. I did sew the pretty leafy print first, then did the rest as a production line project. I cut the corners off the leafy print placemats, to change up a little. Im not sure I reall like it on these. So now, all i have to do is sew on the edge binding. I still need to get more filling stuff and binding to complete all the fabric I have. I will make american families love placemats one more time. They do make your table look nice though.

I am seeing on the news that there are copycat threats in 28 states. Threats worse than what happened at VTech. We had about five or six counties shut down school yesterday and today cus some crazy guy told his pastor he was going to do something that would make that massacer look mild. thankfully he turned himself in last night, and no one was hurt. He was strung out on meth, but he also had a supply of weapons. Some people are really scary. Like I said in Ems 420 post, i dont get all wiggy over pot, but meth makes you freaking crazy.

This really scared me to see so many states having this problem. with Alex out of my sight across the country, it makes me stress. I couldnt have done anything if this did happen at his school, but now i wonder, if something did happen there, if there was a threat, would the school call the parents. I remember when Alex was being interviewed to be a student there, we were told that we were expected to support our son in any way he needed. For us, that is not a problem. I guess I need to call the college and see if they would contact the parents if there was some kind of emergency. to hell withthe privacy thing, if we are expected to be supportive, then they better be ready to support us in this way. What do ya do.

My friends should be here any minute. Still dont know where we are going. Maybe I will bring my cam and try to get some pics of the night. I just want to be able to have a nice night with them. We used to go to breakfast about once a month, when one of us stressed. We would just say wanna do breakfast, andit was on. Now we have to plan it. At least we still get to go out and visit.

It Thursday morning again. I got to come home again early. I love coming home early. I dont care that I dont get paid for that time, I want to come home. so I am sitting here in my bed, lappy on my lap, listening to the news and blogging to you. Could life be any better? Oh yes, but for this moment in my time, I am happy.

I have been listening to the story about the guy that killed all those students at VTech. How scary is that, that he was able to do all that he did. It answeres a few questions as to why he wasnt found during the two hours between his killing spree. He had to have done a lot of planning to get all the photos and film together and send it to NBC News. I just wonder if his parents saw anything strange about their son. For some reason, I havent seen anyone talk to them about what he did. I know, they are hurting too from his actions, but they might be able to fill in some gaps as to his state of mind. I dont know, but it seems if your child is acting that strange, you might notice something.

Finally, Sanjaya is voted off American Idle. I cant beleive he stayed on this long, but stranger things have happened. I have barley watched this year, cus no one really excites me. I kinda watch with one eye. lol Lost is succeeding in confusing me each week. I always wonder how much time has elapsed during a show. they never went back to the two people that got burried alive, and Sawyer is still in the week that he cant call people his names he makes for them from loosing the ping pong game. I wish they would post what day on the island it is, sorta like on 24, where they show the hour. That would help.

Ok, this weekend is almost here. Friday night I am going to dinner with two of my friends from work. They both went to first shift, but we never get to talk any more. I miss my friends and going to do stuff witht them. Saturday is free, nothing planned so I will sew. I have all the fabric, I just need to get int there and get cutting and sewing. Sunday we have a Baptism to attend for my Great Nephew. I am looking forward to this. Its in our old stomping grounds a few hours away, but if we leave early enough, we should be able to have a good visit.

I could go on aboutthe weather, and how many commercials are on tv, and how the price of gass keeps going up, but I will stop here, give yoru eyes a rest. Have a great weekend,

Good Morning, or afternoon or evening. I guess it depends on the time zone and when you sit down to read this. I have been reading through a lot of the blogs today. I feel so bad for all of you having to go through more storms than weve had all winter. Still getting snow in April, and those Nor Easter things. They never really had an efffect on me till i had friends in the area. Truely, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry for you having to live through this horrid weather. If you have to drive, please be careful and dont drive through rushing water, even if you think its not deep. You know its dangerous.

I got off work a few hours early this morning, so i need to stay awake a while so I dont get too tired tonight. I would rather sleep during the day, than have to take a small nap tonight. So John came in to tell me goodnight, and I told him about all the weather some of you are living through. He tells me its supposed to be 80 today. I cant beleive that. The wind blew so hard yesterday, I could hear it just roaring outside. It knocked down trees and there were things blowing all over. The news said it was 26 mph winds here with gusts up to35 and 40. I know this is nothing for you guys on the east coast, but our weather isant as severe as yours. It was bad for us.

I keep seeing thst people are feeling crappy. On a lot of pages, I saw the same thing, people are feeling sick. Yesterday i woke up and just wanted to go back to sleep. I hurt all over and was tired, and tried to go back to sleep, but couldnt. I think it has something to do with the weather. I dont get sick thast often, but when ther weather gets better, so do I. I really think it is this dragged out winter.

Im gonna go back to sleep now. Dont have a lot more to talk about. Stay in if you dont absolutly have to go out int he cold.

Its been raining all day here. According to the temp reader thing on the bottom of my screen, it is 53 degrees. I know, Amber is laughing at me for having to be in the cold. I will live.

I went fabric shopping today. I spent another 100.00 on fabric and other sewing stuff. It will be enough to keep me busy for a while. I did get some really pretty Hawaiian fabric. Not being Hawaiian, it was hard to decide what is traditional. so, I went with pretty. I am going to take a pic of the fabrics before I put them together and add it to this post.

These are just some of the fabrics. I didnt post all of them here. These are my faves.

I went out and looked at he peach tree we planted a few weeks ago in the front yard. It is covered with little baby peaches. I really hope they stay on the tree. It would be so cool to have fresh peaches. I love peaches. There are a lot of orchards around here, and in the summer, they are plentiful. But I want my own if I can. Our orange tree looks pretty good too. And the blackberry bush should produce enough for jelly and pies. I just cant wait for all of this to really get started. Todays rain will get those berries bursting in no time. I don't have the pics on here from last year, but that bush on the side of our house give up lots of fruit. Oh yum.

John has gone to the VFW for a meeting so the house is empty and quiet. I am going to get in the sewing room and get started on those new placemats. They are pretty quick to make, in comparison to a quilt. I want to build up a stock of stuff, then make a web site and post them there. WE will see how it goes. I may have to beg for help when it comes time to actually create a web page. Or maybe I will have to hire someone to do it for me and learn how to manage it.

Finally Friday

Good Morning everyone. Its been a week since I have been here, and not a whole lot has been going on I guess. Well, actually, it has been going on, but I am in a kind of funk, feeling a little on the negative side. I felt better not spreading that foul thing to you innocent folks. I will try and separate that ugly part of my life and tell you what has been happening this week.

I brought my quilt and place-mats in to work to show them off. I do this every time I make something. How else do you let people know you have something they may want. I decided on 200.00 for the quilt and 60.00 for the place-mats. I don't know if you have priced place-mats lately, but I saw single sided stiff place-mats for 12.00 each. So I think 10.00 is fair. Well, one of the ladies i work with asked to see it, I told her where it was and she forgot. I took it home and thought nothing of it. the next day, she asked if she could still see it, so I brought it back in and she asked if she could make payments on it. I said yes, and so did she. I will keep it at home until it is paid off, then she Can have it. If she changes her mind, I will just reimburse her. No biggie.

I am going to make some holiday place-mats, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween. Not a lot, just something for people to see. One other lady asked for a Hawaiian print. She wants them for her mom, but the price is a little staggering to her. She didn't actually put in an order, but I will look for the fabric and make them. Do you think 60.00 is a little high? OK, this is where I start questioning myself. don't wanna go there.

Other than that, it has been work, sleep, work, sleep. I was trying to ween myself from my blog addiction. I don't always have a bunch to say, but I would get on here and keep myself up for extra hours that I could have been sleeping. I didn't sleep very well this week anyway, so I may as well have blogged. I did hop on every once in a while and read a few. I think the funk kept me from here. It really was probably better. This is a work related funk. I hate to go into it right now, but if it dosent get better, and it should next week, I will be back on my more normal sporadic visits. It better get fixed.

So that is myfriday update. Not really a lot going on. It was hard looking at my little lappyy sitting on the other couch, all closed up, not doing anything. I can hear the little motor humming away now, as if it is all happy to be doing something again. So, see ya all later. Have a great weekend.

Sunday Updates

Hi Everyone. today is Easter, and the day is almost over. We went to brunch ata local place, and it was pretty good. It wasnt the same place we usually go to, and it didnt have the same food that is usually out, but it was really good anyway. There was more than enough, and it had a build your own omlette bar, Fresh fruit, waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage and ham. We left the place full, and happy witha little more cash stil in our pockets. They are having a Mothers day Brunch also, so we will be there on that day also. It was only 10.00 per person, what a deal.

the picture you see of John below is him with the Easter Bouquet of Candy i gave him. He was very surprised to see it, I didnt tell him i had it for him. I usually forget to get him something, but this year I remembered. He was happy, and that was easy to do.

These are pics of the placemats I have made. See, there are six of them

I put a different stitch around the edge of the different patterns. These are Strawberries on one side, and lemons on the other.

This set is poppies on one side, and ferns on the other. They also have a different stitch on the border. It is sewn with red thread, looks very pretty.

And this is how they look on the table. I really like these.

I also put a layer of batting like stuff between the fabric, to make it lay down nice. Very nice.

Anyway, Friday I spent the day at the spa, again. It was so wonderful. I really needed the massage, I was sorta tight and hurting. It may have been from working too hard, I dont know. I try not to work too hard, but sometimes it just happens. The thing is, those massages stir up new aches do to making the hurt go away. After a while, that too will go away. I love spa days, but I dont know when i will get another one of those. From here on out, it will probably be short spa days. Just one thing at a time. One day a facial, the next time a massage, then a peddy/manny.

Last night John made a fab crab dinner. He cleans the crab and puts it on a salad with hard boiled eggs and black olives. Then, he puts some of the larger pieces in a seperate dish and some melted butter for dipping. OMG it is so good. We do love crab.

Just stoppin in to wish everyone that happens to read this a very happy Easter. What ever it is that you do with your family or friends, I hope it is something that makes you happy.

I was going to do a thursday thirteen, but I got to 11 and couldnt think of anything else. Also, I went to the home page thing and tried to copy the thing at the bottom of the page, but it always comes out exactly like it looks on the code page. I dont know why it wont copy the right way, that is why I dont do those things. so, needless to say, last week was the last thursday thirteen from me. I just dont want to work that hard on this blog thing.

Sometimes I wonder, if one of us just stopped writing on this thing, just stopped blogging with no notice, how would anyone know that person was ok. I know some people would notice, for a while. Then after a while, they would move on and talk to other bloggers. Sometimes, someone would go to the page and leave a comment on the front page, then leave wondering if the message would ever be noticed.

I wonder If I could leave this blogging thing. I have met lot of really cool people here, but I think I need to do someting else. I just dont know what it is. I wont of cource. I wont stop blogging I mean. I may just post even less than i do now. I dont want to loose contact with the people that I have met on here. I think I will start sewing inteadof spending so much time here.

OK, Thats all I have. Im gonna go watch lost and see if the coule that got buriesd alive somehow wakes up.

My Monday Adventure

Hi everyone. I have been so busy, yet so productive today. Lisa pats herself on her back and smiles broadly. I got to leave work at 3 this morning, cus I got done with the work I had to do. I came home and went to bed and slept till a whopping 8:00. I woke up with a whopping headache, so i got up and took two aspirins and waited for it to go away. When it did, I proceeded to get my dirty house clean. I got the whole thing clean before noon. Yippee! I also made cookies for John and finished my quilt. No, I'm not on drugs, but if I blink it may pass out. so no blinking for me. but here is a pic of my quilt. I cant seem to get the colors to look as bright as they really are, so the pics always look sorta washed out.

this is Alex the day he left for his home. It was right before we left for the airport. I always forget to take pics while they are here.

Here he is in his model/I'm so hot pose. Hahahahaha. He is a funny kid. I just know you would like him. I really do.

The funniest thing happened. We bought him a bunch of stuff for him to take home. He only had two suitcases, and it wasn't going to fit. So we put the stuff in a plastic garbage bags and vacuumed all the air out of them. We filled one suitcase with vacuumed bags. They looked like huge pieces of white taffy. Anyway, of course this bag got held up at the security part of the airport. OMG, I was sure hoping they didn't try to open the bag, it would never close again. But they did open it, and it all had blown up to normal size, and they couldn't get the thing closed now. Alex had to go get this bag at the airport on Monday, as it was still in Sacramento when he got home. I wish I could have seen it.
