An open letter to Annie, from Melissa, Andy n Sadie

Hi Annie,

This is Melissa. My mom said we could write to you, but we wernt sure just how to do it. My mom set up this page so we could write to you this way. We heard you are in love. Andy wanted me to tell you how happy he is for you. His heart is very sad that it isnt him you love, but I am very happy. I know you two used to be an item, or at least that is what I was led to beleive. I think maybe it was just Andy in love with you.  You are quite beautiful you know. He is very smitten with red hair.

We have a new doll here now and she is my cousin. My mom brought her home the other day. Andy and I think she is so pretty. She keeps saying she is different, but we dont know why. Her name is Sadie. Isnt that a beautiful name? She said she had Leukemia, and lost all her hair. She said it is all gone now, called it remission or something. We just love her. She is a lot of fun.

We just found out we are all Doe Dolls. I saw Andy bend over and his name showed a little. I asked him about it and he told me. Sadie said she has the same thing on her fanny, and so do I. I wonder how this happened. Are there any more Doe Dolls out there like us. I bet there are.

I sure hope you see this. I will have to send you a special message or something. My mom said you have your own page now. You are so lucky, how did you get your mammy to do that for you? I will have to ask my mom to set up a page for us so we can all talk. That would be fun.

See you later,

Melissa

Lisa's story

Image Image

Ok even thought I hate to have my yummy picture of McDreamy move on down the line, I think I will take up Lisa's story and so here goes:

Directions: One person starts a sentence then posts the blog. the nest person copies the post to their blog, ends the sentence, and starts another one, but doesnt finish it. the first person the copy the post to their blog, leaves a comment on the last post saying got it or something to that effect.  and the story can go anywhere, have fun

As the sun was setting on the beach, most of the people were walking quietly hand in hand or standing,  gazing in wonder at the beautiful sight , when suddenly…at the horizon a big fish jumped out of the water.  It was about ten feet long and green with barnicles covering it's huge form.  As the fish did a turn in mid air and it's nose pointed down toward the swelling waves to disappear into the ocean's depths, I could see something brilliant hanging from what appeared to be his nostrils. It looked like a chain, Omg could this be the punk

For any of you that have yahoo on your friends list, you may have seen they made some adjstments last night. the thing witht e comments, they fixed it. It wasnt my imagination, just a yahoo glitch fix.

We are having our company picnic this weekend. its late inthe year, i know, but when you make fat food, you have to run almost 24-7 to keep up witht the demand.  We are going to  Great America. We have no kids toworry about, so we an do what ever we feel like. Last time we went there, we had our son, and had to watch him, even if he chose ot to go on a ride with us. This time, I get to see what its like visiting an amusement park without kids again. I call this "grown up stuff." I tell my friends "Im a grown up now, I dont have to watch my kids any more". which really means, I can do what ever i want and have fun doing it. Lets see how this goes. It should be fun.

Did any of you happen to see all the new interesting people. Well, guess what, there is a quiltmaker as one of the new interesting folks. She is my newest friend, DUH! I was so happy to see another quilter. I usually just sorta scim over the interesting people, but I was pleasantly surprised. Now She has some really beautiful quilts. She gets to go to a quilt show this weekeend, I would love to go.  I may just get to learn something new here.

Thats it for now, not much to say, nothing going on. Hope ya all have a great weekend.

I found out that every time you comment on a blog, no matter who's it is, you get a tally going on your blog comments. So, if I comment on five blogs, the little message in the left corner of my home page, says i have 5 comments on my blogs. I have decided i am going to leave this talley alone, and see how many blog comments i can actually accumulate. i may not have any new comments at all, but the guys at yahoo are having a good time playing with our blog pages. One day we will log on here, and everything will be different, subtly, but different. Like it happens now.

Thats all for today. see ya all later.  interesting, huh

I have an idea

I thought of this idea the other day. It s not really a tag, cus i hate those, but this would be something all could do and it would be fun, quick and easy. Ok, here goes.

My idea is to start a story. The first person writes a part of a sentence, and stops. the first person to see it, will copy it to their blog page and finish the sentence, then start another one. so lets say, I start the story with "Mary was walking along the

then I stop. Mavis sees it, copies it to her page, and finishes with "long and shady rambling pathway.  the sun was out today, but the air felt like......

and then she lets the next person finish it. the person who leaves the first comment, would more than likley be the next person to finish the sentence. that person could leave a comment like" got it," or something like that. In my wandering mind, this is the kind of stuff i think about. does this sound like fun to any one but me? If so, copy and paste this page and carry on the story. Lets start now.

Could it be......Annies Lost love

Yeah, I think I know whats going on with Annie. I came home and saw Our little Andie out of his place that my son Alex had left him. He was sitting on the bed in the spare room, looking all innocent and stuff. Well, I think he found out his Annie was around and went looking for her. Then, Melissa, his current girl in the house found out and he had to act like it was nothing. I think Andies real love is Annie. He thought she was gone forever.

Entry for September 15, 2006

I started this blog yesterday. I actually wrote the whole thing, and clicked post. When I did that, I got  a message that said I was going to a non secure site and do I really want to go there. I of cource said yes, at which point it made me put in my password. Fine, I did that too. Then, when my blog came back, the page was empty, so I hit the little message in the top corner that says I can retreive my last blog, and only part of it came back. This is what usually happens, I never get all of it back, soI have to retype , or try to remember what I just typed. So I said Fuck it! I am sick of this happeneing. So many times, I go and try to find a picture to put in here, something that isnt from my photo collection, something off the internet, and when I get back here, part of my blog is gone. Yesterday, I didnt feel like playing that game and shut the whole thing down and  went to bed.

So today, I will try again. If it happens again, I am going to post it just the way it comes back, unfinished. So what I said ywesterday was, I was wondering about some past blogs that are still kind of, unfinished. sort of like  an unfinished conversation. so here i go.

1. Mavis, how is your foot? Did yo have to go to New york with that big clunky boot, or were you able wear your shoe. Is it bothering you now? I dont know if you ever did say, but I checked, and I couldnt find it if you did. I was just wondering.

2. Em, did you get those ceiling tile things up in your kitchen. It was such a pretty look, and i was wondering how you did. Was it difficult? I think I remember you  saying you were gonna do it, but did you and did you paint them? I would love to see a pic of the finished product.

3. Amber, we know you got some dunkies, cus there was a picture of you with them, but what about the other goodies you craved. How did your fannie survive without purple toilet papar? Did you over do on Mountain Dew? Tell us about your USA cravings you missed so much.

OK, that is all. My weekend is here. I have nothing planned but trying to work on this new quilt. It is a lot more fun if there is a reason or person in mind when I am making them.  Oh well, I guess that might happen as I am putting it together. You never know, I might just start asking you guys for your addresses.

I thought wrong

Remember when i said  a quilt is like a puzzle? Well, it is. Its like a geometric puzzle. some things work, and if you change the size of the peice, it doesnt work any more. I realise this after i had sewn a bunch of rectangle together diagonally from corner to corner. I was thinking I could open them up and they would be rectangles again, but they werent, they were long triangles instead. This is what happens when i try on my own, I learn new stuff. I still know what I want, and I can still get it, I just have to go about it a different way. So, most of  the fabric I cut last week has to be recut. I am starting over, lesson learned.
Maybe i will just find a pattern and go with that. Tried and true, I am not a trail blaizer. that sounds so much easier right now. let me think on this one .......................................................................................................
Ok, i just sat here and thought for a while, I am getting out my pattern books. that is what they are for, finding patterns.  I will let you know what i decide. If i am gong to cut fabric, i want it to be for a good reason. But all is not lost, I did learn a lesson, And I will remember this one.

OK, WARNING TO ALL, IF YOU GO LOOKING FOR FRIDAY IMAGES ON THE YAHOO IMAGE SEARCH PAGE, BE READY FOR SOME SERIOUS PORN. I wasnt, but now I know, eeewwwwww, icky.

Ok now. It is finally Friday. Dont know what I am doing this weekend. I have nothing planned aside from the normal house cleaning. I just wanted to drop a line to all of you and say have a good weekend. It is starting to cool off here in the central valley finally. I think we are going to get in the 80's, at last. I am ready for the fall to get here. I wish we had one like the rest of the country does. the leaves fall off our trees, because its time for that ot happen, but it doesnt really cool off for a while. It just gets cold one day. Then we are bone chilling cold for 6 or 7 months, then its incredabley hot again.

Enough of that. I started cutting fabric last weekend to try and start a new quilt that popped in my head. I think I will trya nd work on it this weekend. Its not like  i have a bunch of stuff to do, all I have to do is get up and go do it. I just have to feel like it. Imsure i will.

I also need to get another chapter of school work done. I only have 6 more to go. Im getting nervouse, but this is what I wanted, a new career. When you have spent your entire life doing physical labor jobs, it is scary to go and do something so totally different, but i will do it. yep, im gonna get it done.

So i guess thats all for today, unless i can think of something new and exciting to write about later on. I need to get started on the housework, so I am free to do waht i want for the weekend. See ya all later.

Entry for September 06, 2006

One of the ladies at work is leaving our department and going to another. She might even be going to first shift, dont know, but she is leaving us. We all like her, so a sandwich bar potluck was organised. The sign up sheet was put up in our department, and I signed up to bring cheese, how easy is that? So after work, I went on into our local store and figured I would get 1/4 pound of a few different types. I dont want to sound cheap, but I wont be the only one bringing cheese, I hope. Last time I did this, I brought home most of the cheese, so I didnt want to  go overboard again.

Anyway, I tasted this one cheese, called farmers cheese. I loved it. It was a cross between Mozzerella and chedder, very creamy, white cheese. YUM. I love cheese.

OK, so what I wanted to actually tell you East coast folks about, is our yummy cheeses and bread we have out here. I know every reagion has their own special foods that they have to have. Whether it is pizza, blintzes, coney dogs, or that spaghetti with chili stuff. Every place has a special food that they do great. Out here, we have this bread that can only be made in the Bay area. ImageThat is around SanFrancisco, it is a sour dough bread with a nice crusty crust and dense, but not heavy bread part. The smell is sour, but not nasty sour. More like a sharp smell, I want to put my nose up close to the inside and breath in deep to get the whole effect of the smell and taste of the bread. I wish I could send each of you a laof of this bread for you to taste, it is so good.

We also have Jack cheese. I know, your all saying, we have Jack cheese, Lisa. But you dont have Sonoma Jack cheese. It is a creamy white cheese, mild, and I love it. It is my utimate favorite cheese. Image It is so good. When we lived in Patulama, we would take day trips and go to Sonoma, then to the the Deli there,Image get some sandwich style loaf bread, sliced cheese, and some nice Italian Dry Salami. We would make a sandwich and have lunch in the park across the street. It was so good. I really miss this. This si a pic of the deli we always went to . There are others, but I like this one. I just had to let you know a piece of our food culture out here. We have great bread on the coast, and really great cheese. If your in Wisconson, try ours one day. I like ours better

A quilt challenge for you

When my mom passed away this past february, my sisterds went through her stuff and donated here and there, gave away what she said to give, and took some of the pain away for the rest of us. My mom had little stashes of stuff here and there, and they were all found. I wonder why people stash stuff like that? We all have them, little stashes of stuff we cant bear to get rid of. Anyway, mom had a stash of fabric i didnt even know about. Boxes of stuff. She had some of that stuff you make bedspreads out of........ I dont know the name, its pink and I have even seen bathrobes made out of it. anyway, a whole bag of that. I think my neice gave it to her. She also had a bunch of fabric that would make really nice tablecloths, in fruity prints, heavy cloth. there is brocade for recovering furniture, and this other stuff for making pillow covers. then there is a box of nothing but quilting fabric.

I opened it up to see if I could put some of it with my scraps to make another quilt. there is so much crammed into that box. Its still laid out all over my sewing table.Image I have a bunch of books I could choose from to make another quilt, but for some reason, I am just not as excited as I once was. I will get there, I know I will. there a re a million different designs to choose from. I could even design my own. I dont know if any of you have ever looked at a quilters web site, actually, I can probably guess none of you have, but some of the stuff these people do is amazing. Huge quilts made of itty small squares, creating a picture of something. I have seen people make pictures of their children out of the different colors of fabric.

ImageIf you look at this pic, which i didnt do, you can see all the different squares of color. I dont know how they do it.  Some people make small quilts to hang on their walls. I have done this twice. A picture of an Eagle, I made for my oldest son Andy, and also one for my nephew in the Airforce. I just dont want to hang quilts on my walls.

I have made sets of placemats for all my family, and table runners to put over end tables and table tops. they arent as exciting as watching a quilt come together. Starting out with an idea, then you start cutting, then pieceing back together then it starts to grow and you have strips, then one big peice. Its up to you how you wanto finish it. no borders, fun bordersImageOr something like this border, but it doesnt really stop the edges of the quilt. they just sort of end. By the way, I didnt do this either. then there is the issue of the back panel. I try to make the back coordinate with the front in some way. I have to look  for a while some times, depending on how big the finished quilt is. Most bolts of fabric in stores are 8  yards in length. really big quilts need 11 yards. the last one I did was almost 11 yards for the back. this gets pretty pricey, considering most good fabric is at least 8 or 9 dollars a yard.

so here is my delema, oh and such a delema it is. what kind of quilt do i make. do any of you have any suggestions. do you want to look at a quilt web site and give me a challenge? I dont know how to do curves, circles, things that arent straight cuts, so dont ask me to cut flowers or frilly stuff like that. Its different, and I have to learn how to do it still.  If i accept the challenge of a particular quilt, and try to make it a multicolored quilt,......I will let you know what the prize will be. I am in this one for the fun. Damn, I hope Amber gets to see this. I will have to leave it open till she gets back. I will wait for responses. If you can, send me a pic of your challenge quilt or the name of the quilt. they all have names. Oh Im excited now. Go fellow bloggers, send me your ideas.
